Okay, I don't know about you guys but some of the best memories I have are tied to shows I've seen at the Kennedy Center or the National Theater. What are some of your favorites? Mine are... 1. Ain't Misbehavin' - The Fats Waller Musical Revue" - Easily the best thing I have ever seen anywhere. I saw it in 1978 and again in 1988 when it was revived. It is the only thing I have ever seen that was actually better the second time around. The music affected me almost immediately and forever after. I never saw the Pointer Sisters version but let's be real. After you've seen Nell Carter, Charlaine Woodard, and Armelia McQueen, why would you see it with anyone else in those roles? 2. Sheer Madness - This one is a play that takes place in a hairdresser's establishment. It's a murder mystery and the audience dicatates who's guilty. It's different every time you see it. It's a laugh riot and if you ever find your way to the Kennedy Center, I'd advise everyone to check it out. To my knowledge, it's still there after having been there for many, many years. I'll stop at those two this time because of time constraints and because I'm more interested in what everyone else likes... Ed

I also saw "Ain't Misbehavin" in '78. FANTASTIC show! Some other favorite musicals I saw there were "Fiddler On the Roof", "Oliver" and "Purlie"( with Robert Guillaume and Sherman Hemsley). At Arena Stage in DC, I saw Raisin" based on Lorraine Hansberry's "A Raisin In the Sun"

My very, very favorite....Pippin! Ben Vereen can *do no wrong.* His voice never fails to give me goosebumps... he moves so well.......and he has CHARISMA with a capital C. We did Pippin in school........ I didn't see Pippin live, though. I saw a video of Ben Vereen in the show.... which was fantastic. William Katt (remember him from The Greatest American Hero? ) was Pippin and he sang wonderfully, too....... fun show. I also love Miss Saigon--saw that in the 90s sometime?.... and The King and I. (Which I've never seen in the theatre, per se.) Colorado isn't a really big "theatre" place. (Denver, somewhat.... I just don't get the opportunity to see much....which bums me out because I love musicals, as does my daughter. That was "my thing" in high school and college...... ) Peach

I am so very glad that I got to see Gregory Hines in his Tony award-winning role in "Jelly's Last Jam" - great show and he was phenomenal.... Also, Sophisticated Ladies, A Chorus Line, The Lion King -- all great shows! I always wanted to see Pippin' and Ain't Misbehavin' ... sorry I missed those two !

Now don't laugh, but I have ever single line memorized to the entire musical "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat." I love it!
Oh! I saw Sheer Madness at the Kennedy Center! It did rock!

I really like Grease, especially Rizzo’s character. I think I’ll watch that when I get out of school!
