Fall, the gateway to my favorite season is almost here but the temperatures really make me feel think it's already October. Some years September can be vot or cool.. this year the cool seemed to have come early. Does this mean... early chance of the... ? Does this mean we'll get more... ? The only thing is ... I still have to make doughnuts for the public even if they're 'ed in! Eh... driving in the is fun! But before that... fall. Fall used to be so depressing for me. Why? SCHOOL. Then in college I started to appreciate fall. The colors of the leaves on campus were so beautiful and before, that used to be depressing too. I very much welcome the deaths of flies and other insects... cool days... chilly nights sparking memories of days long gone... and I'm not a sports fan, but fall's not fall without the sound of a football game on tv or the sound of the nearby high school band playing on Friday nights. Hello fall! Bye bye hazy hot humid days! Bye bye flies! Bye bye severe thunderstorms! Good riddance to cutting the grass! Time to turn off the AC and sleep to the sound of crickets through the open windows.

My sentiments exactly, Cadeho..I love fall (only if it would last until Feb.) Btw, my central a/c just kicked the bucket and here the temps have been in the 50's a.m. and low 70's aftenoon, just WONDERFUL..windows open, cool breezes...aaaaaahhhhhh :inlove:

Hate to he a spoil sport, but the only thing bothering me about fall being cool so early is that winter will be TERRIBLE.

Gosh! I wish it would cool down more here. Nothing worse then having to march in the blistering heat for 3-4 hours 3 days a week!!! But since watching Edward Scissorhands, I actually WANT it to !

i like the fall because the tourists go home after labor day- september is known in san diego as the locals' month- the weather is still summer like-well, it's still warm almost all year around here- but you can go to the zoo and the beach and miss the crowds of july and august. last weekend the #1 spot in the nation was -right here- 87% hotel occupancy-
the weather is a bit cooler- 82 today- 67 tonight- but it'll be grass cutting time for me all year long cadeho!
we don't have the fall colors like back east- which do look beautiful- but we don't do much raking out here either!
elise loves fall- baking, wearing sweaters, but that doesn't happen until almost thanksgiving.

The avergae temperature during the day in my neck of the woods is about 82, but compared to 94, with a heat index that makes it feel like 98, it's getting chilly. And the blowing wind and rain doesn't help. I might as well let go, summer is gone, and fall is here. When I go outside to the bus stop in the morning, it's no longer welcoming and bright, it's now dark, and I feel like I should still be in the bed. Then again, I'd feel like I should still be in the bed even if it was bright.

Making every effort to relate to the change of season. Love my hometown of D.C. in the fall! San Diego...ugh! OK, let's memorize the weather report together... No crispness in the air, no leaves changing color... OK, maybe i don't get out much or work way too much, gotta get back east!! Anybody hiring? What about gas prices?

Fall is my favorite season...... along with FOOHBALL and my BIRTHDAY, it's perfect. I hate hot weather. I do love having seasons in Colorado and would miss that. And I even love snow!! And no, not because I ski because I hate skiing. I haven't been since high school! It is much easier to get warm (pile on some sweaters, snuggle in a down comforter...) than to cool off here. The changing Aspen are gorgeous, but not as nice as East Coast Fall colors. So HURRAH for Fall!!! And burning leaves. And pumpkin pie. And cider. Hot chocolate. Sheepskin slippers and flannel jammies....... Sigh. Peach

Peach, have you been getting LOADS of rain? We only usually get about 8 inches a year, and I'm kinda afraid we got all 8 this week! Look out! No rain for another year!
