That is fantastic! I hope too that there'll be some fresh info ... or at least some solid facts that are truly researched instead of being fabricated from myths, hearsay, and opinions.

Here you go......... David Jr. just announced this via Facebook...... He'll be flying to L. A. tomorrow to tape the segment scheduled to air Feb. 27, 2012 on TVOne. Check your local listings for air times. Also, here's something I got from TVOne.......................................... David Ruffin (February 27) – The raspy and anguished lead voice on mega-hits “My Girl,” “Ain’t Too Proud to Beg,” and “I Know (I’m Losing You),” David Ruffin was the center of The Temptations in their peak years. But his expanding ego forced his bandmates to cut ties with him in 1968. And with only one significant solo hit, “My Whole World Ended,” Ruffin never again reached the heights he’d enjoyed as the swoon-inducing leader of The Tempts. In private life, David was a talented, self-tortured soul, capable of kindness and generosity along with untempered anger. But drug abuse wore him down in the ’70s and ’80s, costing him precious opportunities to reunite with friends and former bandmates, and damaging his relationships with those closest to his heart. Less than two years after joining The Temptations onstage for their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, he was found dead from an apparent drug overdose at the age 50. Now, his family, friends and musical associates come together to help ‘Unsung’ portray the tumultuous life and career of a legendary singer.

I REALLY THOUGHT THAT THE PROGRAM REALLY TOOK A DEEP LOOK INTO THE LIFE OF DAVID. I WAS KIND OF SAD AFTER VIEWING:  1. THE TOLL OF HIS ISSUES GREATLY AFFECTED HIS FAMILIES AND THE WOMEN WHO LOVED DAVID. HIS PERSONAL ABUSE HE HIM SELF RECIEVED AND THE ABUSE THAT DAVID GAVE OUT. THAT PAINTED THE PICTURE OF JEKELL AND HYDE  2. MISSED OPPORTUNITIES....THIS MAN HAD A GREAT VOICE. I BELIEVE HE COULD HAVE TAKEN THE TEMPTATIONS TO GREATER HEIGHTS. DAVIDS SOLO CAREER HAD OPPORTUNITIES FOR HIM TO DO GREAT THINGS.....DRUGS IS THE DEMON FOR MOST MEN...ESPECIALLY MEN OF COLOR. DENNIS SAID THEY WERE BIGGER IN EUROPE THAN OTIS' TEMPTATIONS. THIS SHOWED US THE GREATNESS OF DAVID-DENNIS AND EDDIE.....ANOTHER MISSED OPPORTUNITY  3. DAVID WAS ATTACKED BY SATAN IN THE AREA OF HIS SOUL. THE SOUL IS THE SEAT OF YOUR INTELLECT, YOUR MIND, SUB-CONSCIOUS MIND, YOUR WILL AND EMOTIONS. THE ABUSE OF HIS PAST AND EARLY YEARS AND DRUGS WAS THE STRAGEDY THAT SATAN USED AGAINST HIM......DAVID STARTED SINGING IN THE CHURCH...IF HE COULD HAVE GOTTEN BACK TO THE CHURCH  4. MY HEART WENT OUT TO DAVID, JR.....HE LOVED HIS FATHER INSPITE OF HIS DEMONS. THERE IS SOMETHING ABOUT THE TRUTH....IT CAN SHOW A NEGATIVE LIGHT....BUT THE TRUTH IS WHAT IT IS. MAYBE SOME GOOD CAN COME FROM THIS.....HIS FAMILIES SHOULD BE IN OUR PRAYERS....THEY HAVE A PAIN THAT ONLY GOD CAN HEAL |

I had to watch it from the website, and I enjoyed it. I liked the rare pics, and videos fans even didn't have on youtube!

The episode really sort of dissappointed me. I really didn't gain a lot of knowledge about David. However, it was good to hear from some of his children and the opportunity to see some rare pics of him and partcularily he and Tammi Terrell. It was good to see that his son and daughters really thought a lot of him and his wife Sandra really didn't bad-mouth him like Genna Saphia did.

I agree that there was really nothing new -- at least not for his long time fans -- in this documentary. But, as was said before, some of the pics were truly priceless. I loved the pic. with him and his wife and the baby.
Being the Ruffin fan I am, I actually shed some tears when I heard his children speak so respectfully and lovingly of him.
I agree with (Nupeman) that contrary to Genna, the real Mrs. Ruffin showed class in not divulging any unnecessary details of their marriage.
All in all, however, it was a well done, informative piece in my opinion.

I watched David Ruffin UNSUNG with the same anticipation and anxiety as did when I watched The TEMPTATIONS mini-series back in '98............... I wish Ruff's UNSUNG would have been two hours because so much of his positive attributes went untold..... Thank GOD for his children ( Cheryl, Nedra, Kimberley"Mone'', and David Jr., )... his real wife Sandra and nephew Jimmy Ruffin, Jr...,they spoke of David with such pride, love and joy.................David Ruffin was a tortured soul but he will always be THE GREATEST TEMPTATION EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
