The 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks is especially sad for the Tempts online community.
As most of you know, we lost one of our friends "Lyric" aka Jakki Young when the first plane hit the north tower of the WTC.
As Tempts' fans go, Lyric was one of the best and one of the sweetest you could find and her loss left a huge hole in the hearts of all of us.
Here she is at an Atlantic City concert with bass singer (the late) Harry McGilberry.
Lyric has no doubt grabbed a front row seat for that ultimate reunion tour which we'll get to meet up at one day.
A tribute written by our friend "Taz".....
A Smile In The Clouds
It was, indeed, a clear, beautiful day.
The sky was at it's bluest, and
A few white clouds, hung on high:
A stunning backdrop for the city's skyline.
No one could foretell the darkness
that was to come.
There she was
with her usual soft way.
It was a most, routine morn.
Off to work with CD in hand, her favorite group:
Guys in her ears, and the love of lyrics in
her heart and mind.
She made her way,
stopping here, there, coffee, danish.
Maybe, even to admire a store window.
But, as we know,
TIME, and DESTINY—
waits for no one.
On September 11, 2001, 8:42 a.m., Jakki Young,
(also known as LYRIC, to her internet family)
Was not lost but found by ANGELS!!
So, to all that knew her,
felt her warmth,
shared her passion of music,
On every clear day,
you look to the skies,
You should sense,
that beautiful cloud with a smile.
"Hey Lyric, you will...
be missed!" TAZ
