Nick Ashford of the singing and songwriting group, Ashford and Simpson, made his transistion yesterday August 22, 2011. He had been receiveing treatment for throat cancer. As many of you all here know, he and his wife Valarie penned such Motown classics as, "Ain't no Mountain High Enough", "Reach Out and Touch", as well as later hits for Chaka Khan, Whitney Houston, "I'm Every Woman". He and his wife had hits on their own such as "Solid", and "Found a Cure". Nick was reported to be 70 years old.
