Why did he have to do that? Was Joe unavailable during recording?

I mentioned that a long time ago. But people on here didn't believe me. I knew it wasn't Joe as soon as I heard him. Also, there's a song on there where Odeen speaks at the beginning and he's talking about having a long day. I think it was 'Hold Me'. That was definitely not Joe. I agree that he's probably be more fitted for barritone than bass.

odeen is talented but is it not time for a new cd by the temps What? One does not relate to the other. Odeen being talented doesn't have anything to do with the Temptations needing a new album release. They really need to release a great one. But I don't know if it's in them anymore.

I listened to Still Here song by song, and there's definitely a different bass voice on the songs. Odeen's speaking voice isn't really a bass voice. They probably had the studio and musicians booked and needed to record in a particular time frame. Incidentally, I read the liner notes, and it said that Odeen May's provided all of the bass vocals on ALL of the songs. I guess Joe probably won't be receiving Any royalties from the recording, or will he? Hmmmmm....

I agree that he's probably be more fitted for barritone than bass. I knew something was up when that rough mix of Listen Up leaked last year before the album. I was thinking, "Joe doesn't sound like himself." It was the speaking role he had in the song that had me puzzled, but since it was just a demo, I figured he wasn't giving the vocal his best shot. Now I know why he sounded strange--it was a different singer!! Odeen's speaking bass voice sounds more like Barry White than Joe Herndon. When I heard the opening of Hold Me, I knew it wasn't Joe.

AGREED.....WITH THE VOICES AND ISSUES OF THIS CURRENT GROUP I SAY "NOT" I AM SO GLAD I HAVE ALL THE TEMPTATIONS RECORDINGS.....THE GREATNESS HAS BEEN PRESERVED IN THEIR RECORDINGS

Why did he have to do that? Was Joe unavailable during recording? GOOD QUESTION.......WHY? AND WHERE WAS JOE He was sick, according to this post from another thread. Talked to someone from "Star Directions" and I'm very happy to report that Mr. Joe Herndon is still with our favorite group. He was ill when it came time to record the new cd. That's all. Now I'm wondering why he wasn't included on Front To Back.
