The new CD "Still Here" is awesome. All new songs with a great contemporary feel.

I've been listening to it for the past 5 hours. At 1st I wasn't crazy about it, but it's sounding good to me now. I like the fact that a group as old as this is still putting out new songs and still sound good. I was watching Soul train Monday night and I saw David Ruffins on it, and I just wish that he was doing lead for this new album coming out.

(Help) i think you're correct on that particular song......AWESOME is a word I would not use concerning this CD. I feel that it's above average B good to see them still recording.....I have all the Temptations CD's caassetts, records.....this is just an average group of Temptations. The Voices.....David, Eddie, Paul, Dennis, Melvin, Ali, Theo right now there are NO voices. meaning...good singers...........NOT great singers I will be posting my review later today Doc T

First I'm sorry about my grammar from the night before. I should have but didn't check what I wrote. Yes I agree with the fact that they had better people in the group and the last one that I really enjoyed was Theo. I still listen to the "For Lovers Only " cd to listen to him and Ollie. Some of Otis's albums that came out I would just say to myself, this is a group that call themselves the Temptations. This cd is by far better than the last two they put out and I'm just happy that they are using fresh songs instead of standard songs. To me the Tempts were always about new songs and this cd gives us that. Yes "For Lovers Only" were standards, but it help them make us notice their talent again. The next three Cd's after that were outstanding. One of a Kind Lady, Let Me Catch Your Diamonds, Warm Summer Nights, Shawtyismygirlooyeah, Woman (Ron's voice sounds tried but still nice song), and Listenup (The music has nice beat) those are the songs that I like listening to at this time so I feel as if I got my monies worth from this cd.

The album does not grab my attention. I think that the album could have been better if there were a better backing band in place. The music does not have that "full sound" that I'm accustomed to hearing on most Temptations recordings. Bruce is a good singer but he should "sing" and just quit screaming especially in their live performances. Ron's voice is getting weak, I guess that's why on the last few recordings, he sang in his natural tenor, not a good idea, however. His "natural tenor" voice, (my opinion) not that great. With better production, I think the album would have been better, as in the case with Phoenix Rising with the horns, strings and all. I guess with the lack of success with their last couple of albums, their production budget might have been limited. 'Still Here", hasn't grabbed me yet, because I've had it for over a month and I've only listened to it but only ONE time. That in itself is telling me something, because I usually wear the Tempts new recordings out to a point when I learn the words to all of the songs. Hum-mm, interesting, isn't it ?
