When we discussed a picture of the C5 with Harvey Faqua, some were wondering what he was doing now. Read that he has left Vegas and now lives in South Carolina.
While on Vegas, also read that many of the "rooms" in Vegas have become disco to attract younger audience. Plus some are now "brokered" where act has to pay upfront for privilege of performing and can only hope to attract big enough audience to make money back and profit.
Have seen the disco trend in other casinos around nation. However, on the good side (for performers) also saw the Temptations performing before sold-out crowds with lines of people waiting to buy cancellations or non-show tickets. What was unusual was that when I talked to the Casino staff, they were muttering about how hard they had to work with the sold-out crowd, expecting me to be sympathetic and implying that they had never worked this hard before because they had never had sold-out crowds before.

Well, if they hadn't built a big amphitheater JUST for Celine Dion and ran everyone else off, then MAYBE more big acts would come out there and those folks would have to work that hard all the time.
