Yesssssssss -- that's what I think they should be singing. That's Temptations material imo. Bruce has a big voice; I just love it. Thanks ((Gua)) for sharing!

From what I've read this Cd " Still Here" won't be released until February of next year. If this is any indication of what is on it they might have a winner!!!

I like it... but it's not a hit. I don't disagree , but tell me your rationale as to why you think it would not be a hit. What you you classify as a hit?

I'm no mind reader, but I don't see this being a hit, either. I like it, but it's not a hit. A hit is a song like "Stay" which was a cleverly modern spin on the Tempts trademark sound. Basically, the whole Phoenix Rising album had that appeal; it was bringing the Tempts sound to a younger audience, but they stayed true to themselves.
As for this song, I'm not so sure. It might chart, but not very highly. We've heard these kinds of songs from the Tempts before. (Ball of Confusion, Masterpiece, Message from a black man, Error of our ways, etc) I don't think a song like this will cut it today. Unlike Phoenix Rising, this song almost sounds like it was cut in the 70s. It doesn't sound like 2009 at all. That's why I don't think it's a hit. But I like it, personally.

We Temptations fans might like it but theres no market for that sound. The young hip-hoppers will not buy it.

I don't know about this yet. This is clearly meant to reference the topical stuff they were doing with Whitfield back in the '70's. Musically, it's even in that bag - relying mostly on one chord and the groove throughout. The problem is the lyrics are a little clumsy side. I'll need to live with this one a bit longer.
