Great!! What is your favorite part of the movie; I have serveral. When they perform at the Copa and Davis makes his grand entrance, the audition for Motown, when Eddie and David sing at the club, and the performance of Just My Imagination..Eddie looks so sad I believe I saw a tear. These are just a few.....well here are a couple more, their first performance on tv singing My Girl, and at the end of the movie where the are singing My Girl. So who's your favorite Temp?

I don't think any of us can get enough of the Temptations movie. I saw it when it originally appeared on TV, countless times on TV repeats, and bought 15 copies of it, some to give as gifts, others to keep just to be sure it never wears out. And I have obviously watched it many times at home. I watched it recently on TV, and I think I have almost every line memorized.
I am sure all of us who are and have been members here feel the same way you do.

I don't think anyone can get enough of the movie. I know I can't. I think the movie was helpful in terms of actually researching, and, not too mention, they all did a FABULOUS job of channelling their characters. And you could see the chemistry between them. Charles Malik Whitfield (Otis in the Movie) said that they are all "extremely close to this day". I think the movie proves that. Great Film, and an American Classic.

Ah, yes. The last scene is a heart breaker. Going back to the opening of the move with the call for "Al" and then the doors if the Fox Theatre open and we see the Temptations in their purple uniforms doing "My Girl." The tears flow. I was thinking of that scene just yesterday. A classic. Not sure which genius planned the story board, but the opening and ending scenes are really classic and a tribute to the Temptations.
An interesting sidenote: A couple of days before Michael Jackson died, I watched the Jackson Five TV movie. I had never seen it before. The kids who played the Jackson Five were all good actors and singers, and the one playing Michael had an excellent voice. Joe's comments about peforming/dancing like The Temptations was interesting, and then when they won the Chicago Talent contest doing "My Girl" that reinforced the influence the Temptations had on the Jackson Five. My reaction that night was that the Jackson Five did a very good job of the song, but they were still kids. Listening to the Temptations do it, I saw the difference between the Temptations and kids. A muscian wrote that Mozart's compositions when he was 5-10 were still those of a kid, and no comparison to those he wrote as an adult. Immediately after seeing the Jackson TV movie, I got out a DVD of the Temptations singing "My Girl." The difference was like that of Mozart as a kid and Mozart as an adult. And singing them dance as well, ...what more can I say?

It's 2022 and I still can't get enough of the TV miniseries...Hoping Otis and the execs would do a movie version...I could see the biopic become a blockbuster!
