When G.C. Cameron was hospitalized in December 2007, someone commented that they did not think the Temptations group provided health insurance for the singers.
I doubt they do. There is absolutely no way a five-member singing group could get insurance. I know lawyers who are partners in a law firm, but use their wife's health insurance because, as a teacher, she is a member of a much larger organization and can get decent health insurance. The law firm cannot do so.
I know people who own insurance businesses but use their spouse's health insurance plan because the spouse works for a government organization and has much better insurance. Or else they have to buy their own insurance. And that is the truth. They scrounge around trying to find a reasonable plan, and there is no such thing.
Unless an organization has thousands of members, there is no way health insurance can be provided at a reasonable cost. The small business man cannot do it for his employees. Doctors cannot do it.
That is one reason why so many businesses employ people part-time. They do not want to be responsible for the health insurance of their employees.
It may be that all musicians/singers unions have banded together and in that way are able to provide insurance. But there is NO way a five-member singing group can offer health insurance. ANd I would guess if there is insurance it is through the musicians' unions. I
