Hey! I have to go to this week long big, Lutheran Youth Gathering in Atlanta tomorrow. Oh joy. So yeah, just wanted to let you guys know so you don't start worrying about me!

D can call me anytime, and I'm happy this thread was made (right on time!), cause I'm going on a little vacation of my own...I'm going to SC to visit my friend and while I'm down there I'm going to go to her family reunion...her cousins are cool...I've been to one of their reunion's before. Then she's coming back up with me on Sunday and then on the 25th we'll go to Alabama and go to my family reunion. My family's cool too...but by the time I come back, I should have a new set of words for the "Country Folks"--I meant, "Words I Hate" thread.

LOL @ angel niece! family reunions are big- i've never been to one in all my life,although when i was a kid the families would all congregate at grandma's house every sunday for dinner and fun. that was so great and i miss that.

That sounds like some fond memories Sukka, all of yall sitting around Grandma's table every Sunday...too bad we don't have any family in Augusta/Evans.
We'll be hittin the road tomorrow...maybe my folks will let me drive...LOL, maybe not

 Dbaby. I can't believe this. I was in Atlanta at the same time as you!!!! Went there for a buying trip! Just got back yesterday. Did you have fun? I had time to go see GREASE at the Fox Theatre. It was awesome. Frankie Avalon was in it (you probably don't know who he is) and he sang a medley of his hits at the end. He played Teen Angel in the movie version.

Hope all you folks going on vacation have a wonderful and safe trip.
My family has held a reunion for about 40 years or more. I've been attending them since I was a little girl. This year it was held on July 5. We have folks who do karoke, an Elvis impersonater (does it professionally). Two of my cousins and me did the Supremes. The cousin playing the part of Diana Ross was a male cousin. He wore long sequined dress and shoes and a boa. It was lots of fun.
Forgive me if that was more than anyone cared to know. I get carried away.

... and so am I. Philly was cool, but the reunion was split between to hotels near the airport but nothin else was out there but other hotels and a Ruby Tuesday. :sleepy: Ironic most were locals, and 36 of us came up from GA on a bus, it would've been a little cooler if it were held downtown. We took a tour on Saturday and we saw the steps that "rocky" ran up and Gamble & Huff's Philadelphia International Studio! :yourock:
