Davids Story
Chapter 17: ~~~~~~~~~~
*Alarm clock goes off, Honey sits straight up in bed, see’s the other girls on either side of her, sighs & falls back on the pillows*
Honey-Ugh, wake up you two!!
Meagan-Sunday no school! *Puts a pillow over her face*
Daisy-What she said! *Rolls over on her other side*
Honey-Your awake now so you might as well get up.
Daisy-Megs, why one earth does your alarm clock go off one the weekend?! *Knock on Meagans door & her mom steps in*
Mrs. Lalaine Andrews(Meagans mom, LA.)-Girls?! Get up. Honey your mom expects you home in an hour so you can head to church. *Exits room*
Honey-Church....I don’t see the point. I’ll probably just fall asleep. *Crawls over Daisy & grabs her clothes to change into & goes to the bathroom to do so, then returns to see the other two sitting on the edge of the bed still in their night gowns*
Daisy-So....how was your date? *Smirks mischievously*
Meagan-Ya, how’d your “date”go?!
Honey-....So Megs, why does your alarm clock go off on weekends? *Trying to change the subject*
Daisy-Oh don’t pull that! Spill, spill your dirty little secrets!!
Honey-Dirty secrets....no idea what you talking about.
Meagan-Oh come on! Tell us something, anything!!
Honey-I had fun.
Meagan-You gotta say more then that!!
Honey-I don’t see how it’s either of you twos business.
Daisy-Hey, if it weren’t for us you wouldn’t have a cover story for what you were really doing last night....we could easily go tell your loving parents where their perfect daughter really was last night!
Honey-Fine. Went to a concert, met his cousin & friends. Went on a walk, talked, danced. He walked me back to the school where I met you two & then we all went home. The end.
Daisy-Details women!!
Honey-Can’t, got to go home & head to church. *Grabs her stuff* I’ll talk to you girls later. *Leaves*
*Meanwhile at David’s house*
*David placing breakfast on the table as his mother & brother come down stairs*
ER-Sure smells good! David, how sweet of you. *Kisses him on the cheek & takes a seat, Jimmy sits too*
David-Only to happy to make breakfast for my loving family.*Sits at the table with them, they say a prater then dig in*
Jimmy-What’s put you in such a good mood?
David-The concert last night....Melvin did great!! His group mates seem real nice too. Then this other group, The Primes(& the Primettes) walked up & they recognized my name. Eddie, one of the group members said he knew me & Jimmy’s recordings....said he also loved Melvins voice & recordings & that we have a talented family.
ER-Well bless your heart child no wonder you had a good night & are so chipper this morning! I’m glad you enjoyed yourself.
David-I did, Jimmy you shoulda come man; you woulda loved it!! You got to get a job with more flexible hours!
ER-I wasn’t aware you worked last night Jimmy, thought you had it off & went out?....
Jimmy-No ma’am. They uh called me in last minute to fill in for someone else. I did get off early though & hung around town. So you went to the concert alone last night huh David?
David-Yep. But it’s not like I was alone the whole time. I mean I met Melvin & the guys there, hung out together when they weren’t on stage. Then Melvin & Otis caught sight of Berry Gordy & hunted him down. That’s the last I saw of those two. So I talked with the other group members some more, then stopped at an A&W on the way home & that’s it.
Jimmy-Man you shoulda hunted down Berry Gordy with them, could’ve gotten us a card!
David-Naw man we make our own luck...
ER-A talented family we do have! *Smiles at her boys*
Jimmy-So you didn’t have a date for last night?....Didn’t even meet anyone there? I find that hard to believe....*Looks at David, David stares back*
David-I told ya no....just hung out with the guys & came home. Didn’t need a date.
Jimmy-Hmm, shame.
David-I don’t know about that, I had plenty of fun. So Jimmy, tell me what’d you do when you got off work early last night? Didn’t stop & listen to that sax player on Cherry Tree Lane did ya? I know how we love to listen to him play....*Glares*
Jimmy-As a matter of fact I did. Then I continued on my way, just walking & you won’t believe who I saw!
ER-Who dear?
Jimmy-Why none other then Ms. Honey Daniels! Ya she was um sitting on a bench out side that school of hers with some boy....I was gonna go say “Hi” to her & apologize for my rude behavior towards her but um; she looked busy if you know what I mean & I didn’t wanna interrupt. *Glares back at David*
ER-Well she’s a nice child but people shouldn’t do the things your referring to in public places...come on boys. Jimmy you head off to work, as will I. David you go on to church & pray for your brother & me. *Stands to leave with Jimmy*
David-Oh I’ll pray for ya both mama, always do. But I think I’ll pray a little extra for Jimmy today, just got a bad feeling. *Gives Jimmy one last glare as they leave. Clears the table, & heads to church*

Chapter 18: ~~~~~~~~~~
DD-That was a moving sermon. No good deeds go unpunished....what a fascinating belief.
Honey-I thought it was more a idea then belief....
JD-Either way, made you think a bit.
Honey-Sure did. *See’s David across the street* Um, can I meet you two back at the house later. Daisy, Meagan & I wished to go out for brunch after church.
JD-Don’t see why not. Diane?
DD-Go ahead. Be back by one. *Both kiss their daughter & she runs towards David*
Honey-Hey!
David-Hey! *Hugs her*
Honey-I saw you in church....in the choir. You have a beautiful voice, stands out!
David-Thanks. I talked to the choir director this morning, he let me right in. Can’t wait to tell my ma & jimmy.
Honey-I’m sure they’ll be proud, though most likely not surprised with a voice like yours! *Smiles at him* Speaking of, I haven’t seen them with you at church these last 2 weeks.
David-Ah, they both work. Jimmy works down at the hardware store. Mama’s a school teacher but on Sundays she volunteers down at the soup kitchen.....
Honey-That’s sweet of her. I do volunteer work during the summer. I’m not supposed to down at the soup kitchen or at some of the homeless shelters because most the visitors or residents are colored....but I do it anyway. I’ve been doing volunteer work since I was 14 & they still don’t realize.....*laughs* I had a great time last night by the way. I saw your cousin, Melvin up there in the choir too.
David-Ya. It’s great to be part of something with him. I’m closer with him then with Jimmy, minus the living arrangements of course....I’m glad you had fun last night; I did too. *Holding hands & strolling down the street*
Honey-You know you’ve made quiet the liar out of me.
David-How so?
Honey-I’ve lied to my parents more these last 2 weeks or so more then I have in my entire life....& all my lies have been to cover up my run ins or encounters with you.
David-So what lie did you tell last night to go out with me? *Asks amused*
Honey-Said that I was going to Meagans to study & then go to the movies with the girls. My mother then asked why I was so dressed up & I said her parents were having a dinner party & if me & the girls got home early we’d be expected to participate so I wanted to be dressed for the occasion. *Both stop walking & he stares down at her, then laughs*
Honey-What’s so funny?
David-*They start walking again, holding hands.* You are, you are absolutely amazing! Do you know that?
Honey-Well I don’t know about amazing....David, Van Wyke has said it before but it’s more flattering coming from you. *Smiles* So,....how am I “amazing”? *smirks*
David-Well your beautiful. Smart, funny, you can stand my brother so you must get along with just about everybody. You know how to have a good time & let loose, hense our date last night. The list could go on for sometime.....
Honey-*Laughs* You have quiet a list yourself, but if I start on it I’ll just keep going & I’m sure you don’t want me rambling on about how amazing I think you are....*smirks*
David-If you did that my ego would certainly be inflated. Since you brought up our date, I gotta talk to you about some things. Wanna go to the park?

Honey-Sherwood park?
David-No....a park down in my neck of the woods. It’s Richmond park.
Honey-Oh....I’ve heard of it. Not great stories mind you.....
David-Ya it can be rough down there but it’s more private. Plus, ain’t like I gonna let anything happen to ya. *Gives a reassuring smile & they head off. They arrive at the park, they sit on the swings, Honey looks around nervously before putting her attention to David*
Honey-So what’s so important you had to drag me down here for huh? *Trying to sound calm*
David-I told ya. About our date.
Honey-Oh....did um, did I do something wrong? *Asks nervously, bites her bottom lip*
David-*Gives small laugh* No, nothing like that. The night was perfect, you were perfect. *Smiles at her* It’s nothing like that. *Holds her hand, she lets out a sigh of relief*
Honey-That’s comforting, you scared me for a second. Thought it....we,were over before anything really even started.
David-Well you needn’t worry about that. Though there’s something to be concerned about....Jimmy.
Honey-Jimmy? Your brother?
David-He uh saw us. Kinda brought it up this morning.
Honey-Oh.
David-He put it in a way so my ma didn’t know, but um he could spill to anyone at anytime. He’s gonna be keeping me on my toes. He’s a such a pain....
Honey-What are we going to do if someone finds out? I mean my parents certainly would band me from ever seeing you again, maybe have you arrested.
David-Well my brother wouldn’t tell them, he don’t want me arrested I’m sure. He can’t hate me that much....in fact he don’t hate me at all. It’s you he has a problem with, which is just to damn bad cause it’s my life to do what I please with. He might tell our mom though I don’t see why. She has no issues with you....other then she thinks it’s rude to do certain things you were doing on a bench last night.*Laughs*
Honey-What?! How does she know? And you were part of that “rude” behavior to you know!
David-*Still chuckling* Jimmy said he saw you last night at a bench outside your school & was gonna go say “Hi” to you but you looked “busy” with some boy & didn’t want to interrupt. *Smiles broadly*
Honey-I’d wipe that smug look off your face! I wasn’t that busy with that “boy” he saw me with....wasn’t really enjoying myself either! *Gasp & covers her mouth in sarcastic shock* Opps, that was with you wasn’t it?! Well, you must be out of practice is all. *Smiles at him trying not laugh*
David-Oh really? Outta practice huh?! Well do you give lessons cause apparently I could use some?! *Leans in to kiss her, she leans in as well but then pulls away*
Honey-Sorry, no lessons here. I only do “lessons” for fun with those who are more....experienced shall I say. *Smirks*
David-Ah, that’s cruel of you! *Acts hurt*
Honey-*Laughs* But,....I do have tendency to volunteer to help those who are less fortunate as I was saying earlier.
David-Good thing I’m one of those who are less fortunate....*Leans in & kisses her, then she pulls away*
Honey-My lessons any good? *Smiles*

David-Learning a lot, there sweet as Honey.*Smiles back, takes her face gently in his hands & kisses her again*
(Someone clears there throat & they part to see Jimmy standing in front of them)
David-*Stand up* Jimmy.
Jimmy-David, Ms. Honey Daniels isn’t it? *Nods to Honey*
Honey-*Stands up beside David* Hey Jimmy....nice to see you again. *Bites bottom lip nervously*
Jimmy-Wish I could say the same to you.
David-Jimmy leave her alone.
Jimmy-Can’t do that David. I mean you are my little brother & I’m suppose to look out for you, make sure you don’t go getting into any trouble.
David-Well I ain’t in trouble. Thanks for caring though, you should be on your way now.
Jimmy-On my way where? I’m on my lunch break. Should I be on my way to Ms. Daniels home to tell her parents where she is, who she’s with & what she’s doing & that she’s more then ok? Or perhaps I should go visit ma at work & tell her that her “chipper” son from this morning is taking part in that “rude” behavior I saw being displayed last night. What do you think baby brother?
Honey-I should go *turns to leave but David takes her hand*
David-No you don’t need to go. Jimmy on the other hand better get back to work before his breaks over ain’t that right Jimmy?!
Jimmy-*Smirks* Ya, guess I should. See you at home David. *Walks off*
Honey-I really should go now....
David-Don’t let him get to ya. He’s bluffing.
Honey-He doesn’t approve of us, of me. Anymore then my parents would if they knew. I don’t even think my friends approve.
David-Who cares? Do you?
Honey-No....yes. I don’t know. It was just a date right? Not like you asked me to be your girlfriend, go steady or anything like that.
David-No, didn’t ask ya that.
Honey-Which is good cause I’m might as well be engaged to David Van Wyke. My parents have been planning my marriage to him since I was 6 or so. It’s my destiny, so I’m told, to be his perfect little wife & have his babies & live happily....miserably ever after. So....good thing we’re not serious cause then my future would be ruined. Is your brother really that horrible or is it because I’m white?!
David-I....
Honey-I’m sorry I shouldn’t have said that. I’m prying, I didn’t mean to. I’m leaving now....*Walks away leaving David at the park. Is running down the block when she runs into Jimmy*
Honey-I’m so sorry, I....you.

Jimmy-Naw, me & you are gonna have talk. *Drapes arm around her shoulders & leads her into an A&W were they sit in a booth* All I really have to say to you is stay away from my brother.
Honey-Why? Because of my race? You think because I’m white I’m what, evil or something?
Jimmy-Not necessarily evil, but you are trouble. And my brother, my family doesn’t need trouble.
Honey-Hmm, & what have I ever done to you or your family?!
Jimmy-Not the point, just stay away from David!
Honey-Or what? You gonna tell my parents, tell the cops?! You do either of those & David would be arrested immediately, no questions asked! You gonna tell your mother? She has no problem with me whether she’d approve of David & I or not! She knows David makes his own choices!
Jimmy-Don’t assume or pretend you know my brother better then I or my mother do, you’ve known him 2 weeks; you nothing! I personally don’t like ya, but not just cause you white;though that does play a part.
Honey-What’s wrong with me then?!
Jimmy-Your stuck up, have a racist family, get people beat up by cops, basically you’re a pain in the ass & my brother could do so much better!
Honey-You don’t know me at all! I like your brother &he likes me so deal with it.
Jimmy-Or, I can tell a certain other David you know, see what he thinks....
Honey-You wouldn’t....
Jimmy-Oh I’ll do anything for my brother....keep that in mind. *Stands up to leave* Break it off Honey, it’ll be better for everyone. *Leaves. Honey heads home in a deep pensive state*

No, Jimmys not gonna be like that throughout the whole story! I actually like Jimmy but just need some kind of "villian" if you will at the moment. He'll get nicer I promise, & I'm sure he wasn't really like that. It's just a story people. Next chapters have more of the "guys" in 'em by the way. =D

Lol, chapter one is on page one of this thread =) Thank ya'll for reading it, or at least trying to & giving it a chance. But....feedback/questions do go in the "Feedback" thread. Only to save space for stories here. Oh, & I don't suggest you print it out; I wouldn't even have the patience for that & it's my story!! I know it's long, & will most likely continue to be so. But that's why you don't read it all at once & try & read it all in one night. Just read as I update the chapters....that's what lightdion does. She reads by the chapters I post when I post them, I think if you guys read my story that's probably the easiest way to go about reading it =D So enjoy, & remember questions/comments go in the "Feedback" thread & are much appreciated =D

Chapter 19: ~~~~~~~~~~
*Later that evening, Melvin’s house, David comes over*
David-*Walks in without knocking* Blue I gotta talk to ya!
Melvin-Ruff, I gotta talk to ya too! You first though man, looks like you should sit down. *Motions towards the couch* What’s up Ruff?
David-Jimmy, that’s what! Me & Honey been on one date & he’s screwing things up already!
Melvin-What’d he do?
David-Scared her off pretty much, I didn’t do much to comfort her either I suppose!
Melvin-What you mean scared her off?
David-Put ideas into her head, bad ones. We we’re at Richmond park &....
Melvin-You took her to Richmond Park?! No wonder she was scared man!
David-No, well that did make her a bit uneasy but that ain’t it! Jimmy went into stuff ‘bout how he could tell anyone about me & her & it’d be over in a second. He left eventually but his word musta hit home....she started getting doubts & took off.
Melvin-Ya didn’t go after her?
David-Thought she’d want space, time to think pretty much.
Melvin-Hmm, well your day sucked. Don’t know what to tell ya, I could try talking to him, maybe we could get Momma Rose to straighten him up! *Laughs*
David-Those ain’t bad ideas actually....so what you gotta tell me Blue?
Melvin-Got berry Gordys card!! Now, we already have a manager...or did; kinda lost her, & Al & Peewee & Richard last night so actually me & Otis have his card!!
David-A card & no group, but hell I’ll be your 3rd member & Jimmy can be the 4th, then ya just need one more.
Melvin-Well actually, I kinda called up Paul Williams & Eddie Kendricks & told them me & O wanna join their group. Then I gotta call O tomorrow & tell him they called begging to join our group. As for a 5th member....Al quits at least once a week & always comes back.
David-Fine, make my day worse! *laughs* Naw. I’m happy for ya Blue....my turns coming, I can feel it.
Melvin-I’m sure it is. Listen you gotta work on Honey right?

Melvin-Well Eddie, Paul, Al & myself are all heading to Otis’s tomorrow after school. Bring Honey along & try & work things out huh? O only lives few blocks down from here.

*Next day, after school. Honey walking home by herself, David catches up to her*
David-Honey! *Walking along side her* Can I talk to ya?
Honey-You kinda are aren’t you?
David-You know what I mean. But hell screw talking, come with me!
Honey-Go with you where? I got to get home.
David-Hey it ain’t to the park or in the middle of a street I promise! *Smiles*
Honey-*Laughs* Well that’s comforting but I still have to get home.
David-*Steps in front of her* Please, just trust me. Come with me! You can call your parents when we get there.
Honey-And where might there be?
David-It’s a surprise. Just trust me please! We won’t stay too long....*pleadingly*
Honey-I’m not suppose to, but I guess I can make an exception. *Takes his hand*
David-Great, lets get going. *Leads her to Melvin’s house. They arrive & he just walks in with her*
David-Blue, O, Jimmy, fellas! Ya’ll here?!
Melvin-In the kitchen Ruff!
David-*Him & Honey enter kitchen where they find everyone eating sandwiches & drinking tea. Jimmy drops his sandwich seeing David with Honey. The others smile politely.*
Hello ya’ll. How ya be?
Melvin-We fine. Hey Ms.Daniels. *Gets up & gives her a hug & kiss on the cheek. The others stand up & do the same, except Jimmy. *
Honey-Hey Jimmy.
Jimmy-David....*stands up* you lied to me man, your brother! Momma Rose don’t need no help, & I ain’t stickin’ around to watch this. *Leans down & whispers in Honeys ear, just loud enough so the others hear* David wouldn’t be to pleased to hear ‘bout this.
MR-Jimmy.....I need to talk to you.
Jimmy-Yes ma’am. *Momma rose pulls him into another room to talk.*
Honey-Well, nice seeing him too. *Smiles nervously*
David-So, ya’ll gonna rehearse or what? I mean ya’ll are the ones with Berry Gordys card!
Otis-That’s right!
Honey-Berry Gordys card?!
Eddie-Yes ma’am!
Honey-Call me Honey please.
Paul-Alright, Honey. Come one you guys...lets get back to work! “Oh Mother of Mine” from the top,. Just like we rehearsed....we got an audience to impress now. *Honey & David take a seat on the couch to watch* One, two, one, two, three! Ohhhh, mother! Oh mother of mine.......I’ve been blind.
Eddie-So blind!
*Song continues, then ends. Honey & David applaud*
David-Woohoo!!

*Group bows*
Paul-Thank ya’ll, thank ya kindly!

Jimmy-Good job guys. *Room pauses & stares*
Honey-Well, you guys were fantastic! Jimmy...your right. David probably wouldn’t wanna hear ‘bout this. *Turns to David* I’ll be going now so if ya’ll will excuse me.
David-I’ll walk you home.
Honey-No, no. That’s not necessary. You guys were amazing, Mr. Gordy is going to be absolutely blown away! Bye....*Walks out door & heads home*
David-Jimmy I’m gonna whoop your ass!
Jimmy-All I did was come out of the other room man! Momma Rose told me to come out & apologize to her which is what I intended to do!
David-Well you certainly didn’t go outta your way to get that done now did ya?!
Eddie-*To Jimmy* What’s your problem with her anyway?
Jimmy-None of your business!
Melvin-Hey, ya’ll need to calm down now alright?! Damn, we were suppose to be able straighten things out.
David-Ya but Jimmy ruined that!
Jimmy-Hey man what’s the point? You didn’t go after her ergo she can’t mean that much to ya which means I don’t gotta apologize to no damn ivory & I can save my breath! *David punches him in the jaw, Jimmy wipes blood from his lip* You turn on your own brother for a piece of hiody toidy trash....*Leaves*
Melvin-David you so lucky Momma Rose wasn’t in this room is all I gotta say cause your ass would be black & blue!
David-It’s already black....Jimmy’s as racist as some of them are & he don’t even realize it!
Al-Hey I agree with your brother. I mean the girl is fine & seems nice enough but man....an ivory ain’t worth the trouble!

David-Maybe he was but he didn’t do it....I gotta go ya’ll. Honey was right though, ya’ll gonna blow Berry Gordy away! *Leaves & catches up to Honey as she’s on her way home*

Honey-Oh no, not you again. I ain’t going anywhere with you for any reason or to see anyone!
David-All I want to do is talk to you!
Honey-You said that an hour ago when you took me to your cousins house & now the conversations starting all over again!
David-I really just wanna talk to you is all, I promise!
Honey-Well you just talked to me & I’m on my way home so excuse me!
David-*Steps in front of her* No! Not till you listen!....
Honey-I don’t have to listen to you, to talk to you, to see you!! I don’t have to do anything I don’t want to do!! Especially when it comes to anything involving you Mr. Ruffin!

*Wensday afternoon, after school. Honey, Daisy & Meagan are walking around*
Honey-Thank God this is our last week of school! Then we get to enjoy the summer & head off to college & go where ever our lives take us!
Daisy-Yep. Though I’m taking a year off before college.
Meagan-Me too.
Honey-Well I got into Michigan University, I wanna start as soon as possible, after summer of course; I do need some time to relax.
Meagan-So Honey, where’s David?
Honey-David who? Van Wyke?
Meagan-You know full well who I mean! Your “lover”! *Giggles*
Daisy-Ya, haven’t seen him with you at all this week....
Honey-He’s probably busy....besides, we’re not a couple or anything. We went on one date, simple as that. I wouldn’t be surprised if I never see him again....
Daisy-*Sees Jimmy approaching* Speak of the devil...here come’s his brother. *Jimmy approaches them*
Jimmy-Ladies...Ms. Daniels I need to talk to ya.
Honey-Alright, see you girls later. *Walks with Jimmy*
Honey-What is it you want Mr. Ruffin?
Jimmy-To um, apologize; to you.
Honey-I wasn’t aware the word “apologize” was in your vocabulary.
Jimmy-Ya well, it has to be now. I’m sorry, for everything. Truly I am!
Honey-Why should I believe you?
Jimmy-I told you I’d do anything for my brother!

Jimmy-He’s been moping around all week, got a feeling it ain’t cause he’s “depressed” ‘bout the last week of school either...*sarcasm*

Besides, you don’t want me anywhere near him & are in fact blackmailing me to stay away from him!! So if he’s depressed, it’s your fault & his own! *Walks away*
Jimmy-So you are the cold heartless bitch who ain’t worth my brothers time, just like I said!!
Honey-*Turns quick to face him, slaps him* How dare you talk to me like that!! You have no right!! Blaming me, you’re the one who’s ruined....everything!! What kind of older brother are you? You claim to be protecting him, when really he’s actually depressed because of you! You know, I hope you never become a body guard or any form of security because you ain’t good at protecting anything! You hurt people! *Melvin steps out from behind the barbershop corner which is where he watched the whole episode from & approaches Jimmy*

David-The other day, & your only telling me now because....

Jimmy-Friday night is the last day of school, she wants you at 10 that night to call on her!
David-Right, because I can waltz right up to her front door that late. To have her parents open the door to me saying “Hi, I’m here to call on your daughter. Yes I’m black & ya’ll are racist but I promise I just wanna take your daughter out this late for dinner....not to rape her or anything like that!”
Melvin-Not her front door idiot! Her room has a balcony! Do the Romeo & Juliet thing, sweep her off her feet!!
Jimmy-Ya man!
David-Why you care Jimmy, you don’t approve of her?!
Jimmy-Just so happens she & I worked out our differences & I apologized to her. Besides, if you don’t trust me I know you trust Blue!

My story is gonna follow the movie so, ya it'll probably go on for a while. But I'm just doing it for fun =) Gives me something to do with my free time & I enjoy doing it.

*Friday night, 9:30pm. Honey’s getting ready for bed*
DD-*Calling to Honey* Good night darling, congratulations. I’m very proud of you.
Honey-*Her ma kisses her on the cheek* Thanks momma.

David-You sure she said 10 man, I mean; ain’t that kinda late to go & call on her?
Jimmy-Hey, you don’t have to go. You could just let her down & make more of an ass of yourself.
David-No, I’m going.
Jimmy-Good, cause that apology to her took a lot outta me.
*The boys mother walks in*
ER-Jimmy, David....my graduated boys! I’m soo proud of you two!!
Jimmy & David in unison-Thanks Momma.

David-Jimmy & Melvin....God damn it! I knew it had to be a lie but my hope got the better of me!

Honey-Well....I must say, I’m impressed. You came here despite your doubts, throwing pebbles at my door, talking to me from below my balcony......very Romeo & Juliet; forbidden star-crossed lovers.
David-*Laughs* That’s what Jimmy & Melvin called it....the Romeo & Juliet routine. Course they were referring to the whole balcony thing, not the star-crossed, forbidden lovers....you put that in yourself.

David-What, after all that climbing? I think not missy. *Walks into her room through the balcony doors*
Honey-Excuse you! What makes you think you can just waltz into my room?! Get out!
David-No....*looking around*

Honey-You wouldn’t touch me, if you did I’d scream! Then you’d be in trouble. So leave, or stay here all night. Either way, it’s no concern of mine. Good night Mr. Ruffin. *Lays her head on her pillows*
David-Why didn’t you forgive my brother?
Honey-He said sorry, then said you’d been moping around all week cause you hadn’t seen me. I told him it was his own fault & yours & that I wanted nothing to do with either of you. We went on one date, you didn’t ask me to be your girlfriend or go steady; nothing serious. After that he called me a cold heartless bitch & I slapped him. Is that a good enough explanation for you?
David-What did we even fight over? Do you remember?
Honey-*Sighs* We fought over Jimmy, people not excepting us! Cause they won’t & never will....now; let me get some sleep.
David-Is that all? There was nothing else that caused our fight, or fights rather?
Honey-If you must know, Jimmy blackmailed me. He said he’d tell David Van Wyke...Prick about us. You know what would’ve happened if he told David....David would’ve gone either straight to my parents or after you himself; like the pig he is! I’m tired, please let me sleep!!
David-So you so care about me?
Honey-I didn’t want you arrested or beat up....doesn’t mean I like you, love you, anything like that. *Sits up* Anything else you want to know or talk about before I can fall asleep?

Honey-Uh....what happened to the charm? You were so....polite & charming when I met you. In the grocery store, returning my purse, on our date. Then your annoying & rude!
David-That’s cause charm is part one of being infatuated....once you get to know the person better the fantasy wears off & reality sets in. We bicker like crazy....yet here we are.
Honey-Well, aren’t you so wise & all knowing. What do you want?....
David-To work things out, give us a chance!
