Wow...now everybody on this board suddenly seems to get along with O's point of view. It's amazing to me... As I said, I give you the David one. But on the other hand, I myself would have tried to save Paul. If you do things right, even in show business, you'll get your reward. All they had to do was postpone the touring and say that Paul was ill. Full Music Halls? Who cares!? My friend comes first. I agree with most of what Otis did, but leaving Paul alone...just unethical. Think about it M Its not us getting along with O's point of view. And friends are friends. Definately very very very important. But also, I don't think he just left Paul alone. I think he sincerely cared for him in his own way. I would have done it different like I said earlier, however, putting food on the table comes first. I'm not saying I agree with Mr. Smiles. Not by a long shot. "Disease" killed Paul, not Otis

"Disease" killed Paul, not Otis I didn't say otis "killed" Paul. I'd never say anything like that....about any of these guys...or anyone. And yes, money puts food on the table...got that right my friend. But I still believe that they could have done a little more for him (paul). And maybe say "for him" isn't actually the right word either. But maybe "being with him" might have cause a better effect on him. We'll never know...All I know is they share with the Beatles the "tittle" of "My favorite group".

When you're an alcoholic, the only one who can ultimately do you any good is you. You have to admit that you have a problem and until you do, nothing anyone tries to do for you will meet with any success...

What I woulda done differant from the movie: I may be a HUGE fan of david, But I woulda let him go to, Bussiness wise he wold have been a bad choice ... Dennis was the temptation who came after david, and if he was already in, youy can't just take him out. And Venezuelanfan ... No need to blame Eddie, I mean Eddie was a caring person, but he had himself to worry about, and he probally did talk to paul ALOT ... we don't know ... The movie was 40 years squished into 3 1/2 hours ... So alot was left out ... I woulda changed that Explorer the goes buy the limo to a '63 stingray corvette or something ;D;D;D LOL ;D

AA or just common knowaldge? My father is a recovering alcoholic and he's got many years of sobriety under his rather ample belt.... 'Course, most of AA's famous sayings are little more than common sense. Ed

What made me never want to drink...the pee troughs at Dodger Stadium starting when I was little. The horrible smell of beer overwhelmed my little nose. Almost made me ;D ...the way you do the things you do...

I Never blamed Eddie...and, as said before, it helps when people who care about you stay by your side (not in a i'm-gonna-be-with-you-thru-night-and-day. Just by visiting you, calling you, etc, they would help a lot) But I agree...Eddie and ther rest had their own problems, and I WILL NEVER blame any of those guys, as I said on one of my lasts posts.

SInce I can be such a softy at times.. I think i would have brought him back gradually.. maybe starting out as Special Guest tonight.. David Ruffin.. and take it a bit slow from that and seen how he did.. had talks with him.. find out what exactly he wanted to do... that way Dennis could still be going strong..and there would be a spotlight set for David.. keeping pple positive that he didnt disapear..etc.
