Ricky Fante is the guy (left) who played Marvin Gaye in the series. Some might not know who he is because his appearance was so brief. Well, for those who don't already know this, he is a very good singer who has 2 albums out and a video. He performed on Soul Train and The Early Show recently. Check out his video on his web site: www.rickyfante.net/Sounds like a mix of Otis Redding and Wilson Pickett. Well what do you know?

Here he is last week after a performance. That's his girlfriend, actress Nia Long and Lenny Kravitz.

Thats great news! I'd like to see more of him on the big screen. I cant remember where else I've seen him (guess I'll have to visit his site to find that out). He kinda looks like he would have made a good Eddie Kendrick.

Thats great news! I'd like to see more of him on the big screen. I cant remember where else I've seen him (guess I'll have to visit his site to find that out). He kinda looks like he would have made a good Eddie Kendrick. He will be in small role in the upcoming tv movie produced by Oprah, 'Their Eyes Were Watching God' starring Halle Berry. He will be a lounge singer... Funny you should say that cause I think Ricky probably initially auditioned for Eddie. Terron said he auditioned for a smaller part (I think Marvin Gaye) and instead was blessed with playing Eddie. There are a few others who I believe auditioned for the same part. The lead singer of the Cadillacs is in reality a much darker complexioned guy but they cast him with a very light complexioned guy. I think he originally auditioned for Smokey but they gave that role to Eric Tristan. It's just my theory and the only explanation I could come up with for their choice.

Thanks Trebo for the somewhat random Lenny Kravitz photo ................. MADE my morning! hahah Ivory... you should see who I have as a guest in my apt right now for a few weeks.. the son of a very good friend of mine.. .. he looks so much like Lenny K, you'd think his parents eyes twinkled twice.. he is a little younger.i think hes 22 or 23, . but he could be Lenny's twin. When I can get around to it.. I'll get a pic of him so you can compare.
