We are watching the movie once more. And for the umpteenth time we wonder why Speedo at the end of their (fantastic) performance points at Otis? Any ideas?

Yep, that's what we thought. So, there's no story about that? It's mere symbolism ... huh?

Well, other than the fact that O admired the Cadillacs when he was growing up and the book starts off with the story of him going to see them at the Fox THEE-ater.

Exactly! I always thought it was saying, "I'm passing on the torch to you.... here is my power." ZAP "Now you will be famous." ;D ;D

I'm sorry Anna, but WHY did you have to make the title of this thread contain the word "speedo" and "Otis" .......... as it would be with any man the mental picture I'm getting when I see "speedo" and "Otis" is not a pretty one.

Hi AnnaKonda, You mean the guy on the far right? That's Earl 'Speedo' Carroll. That was dramatic license for the ultimate "could it really happen to me?"

:DThat is the real "Speedo?" Gosh, they must have been fantastic. If their performance was only half as good as that in the movie, they must have been true acrobats. And the song "Speedo" was just the right overture to the movie. Thanks curet for the pic!
