I just went there and the quality ain't great. I can understand completely why it wouldn't be archival quality though. It's nice to have them archived somewhere. Thanks for putting it up!.. Ed

Ebony, BTW, I love that picture of Eddie you have as your icon. I think it's my favorite.
Several years ago I bought Terron's CD of Christian Contemporary music. He wrote, produced and sang all the songs on it. Terron's manager telephoned me and asked me what I thought of the songs, which one was my favorite, etc. We had just been discussing whether the actors sang the songs in the movie on this board or were they all taken from the Tempts' actual recordings. I have heard people involved in the movie say one thing, and the actors say something else. So I asked Terron's manager, and he talked to Terron and said Terron sang all of his songs but one. We talked further, and he said Christian sang his songs too and pretty much what Terron says on his board. Terron said he and Christian were both singers before they became actors.
DB Woodside did some singing too, but I think Terron explains that on his website. Ivory contributed the fact that DB had been in the Chorus in high school or was it college. Actually since DB has a MA from Yale University in Drama, he could very well have taken music training in college since every actor has to be prepared to do almost anything.
An interesting point that Terron points out too is that Leon, who is a singer too, was not allowed to sing any of the songs. I can only think it is because his voice is distinctive and recognizable by an audience, and that he could not make it sound like David's. I think everyone has made the point that Leon was disappointed that he was not allowed to sing David's leads.
I hope this explains whatever was obscure in my previous posting.

Leon told me he originally wanted to read for Eddie believe it or not....this was before he even went........I don't know what his voice sounds like but I doubt it is recognizable to the general public...it's more that he probably couldnt sound like David enough.....

I'm with you, Girlie. That's definitely Paul. Both sound just like the recordings.

Yeah, I missed that part before. It's definately the REAL Paul.
Somewhere way back when I made a list of all the songs and who was singing which. ............

But to be fair ................. I don't know that I'd be able to accurately say which songs Christian Payton had sung or not sung six years after the fact if I were Terron. Only whacked out movie freaks like us know that kinda stuff.

Are we absolutely positive about this? I listened real close last night and maybe Christian just sounds a lot like Paul and had the song down to a tee. Is this a possibility?

Awww...he was jus' a young 'un when they shot the movie...only 23.
And in Paul's behalf, I beg to differ about Chrsitian singing all of his parts....maybe the whole "I Want A Love I Can See" slipped Terron's mind...but I love Terron's acting. Weird, sometimes his face is the one that pops into my mind when I hear Eddie Kendricks

Yeah, maybe I'll give him "Cloud Nine", but that was definitely Paul on "I Want A Love I Can See".

No, it was the Tempts on Cloud Nine.
What now Ebony, what are we not sure about? Which ones Christian sang?
If I can't find the post, I'll try to take another listen to the movie and list who sang what.

MrNupeman: I didn't see Ivory's post about TWYDTTYD, but the confusion with this one lies in the fact that when they start out in the studio... that's Eddie&Tempts. When they get to the school, that's Terron&whoever. And I think it speaks well to the quality of the actors and moviemakers how few people (casual viewers) even realize there is any difference.
