LOL! I'm sure you're right. I really wish the soundtrack they released had the songs as the actor's and studio singer performed them. I, for one, could listen to Chazz Shepherd sing all day and Christian and Terron equitted themselves amazingly well on the songs they sang. Where are Chazz' and Christian's recording contracts? Ed Ed, I never purchased the soundtrack...is it very different from the movie? Could you tell me what the differences are? I think Christian and Terron in particular did totally AWESOME jobs on their singing parts (as well as acting, of course). I tend to favor Christian because he sounds SO much like Paul to me, while I hear a big difference between Terron and Eddie...but Terron sounds wonderful too!

I have the soundtrack, and it does have additional songs on it, including some Smokey wrote just for it. He was not at Melvin's actual funeral, but he wrote a special song to sing at the movie funeral.
Smokey also sings "Be Careful What You Wish For" as a comment on the Temptations' dreams and/or anyone's dreams. You sort of cry all through that song.
Although Terron said he and Christian sang their songs when his manager telephoned me, I am glad that he posted all those answers on his web site. I am sure he was asked those same questions over and over again.

LOL, Ed...yes, Proboards wanted to be SURE we saw your post(s) :laughing (you can easily delete the spares if you like)
Thanks for the information and listing. I'm glad I didn't buy it, since I have all the songs already by the Tempts and would have only wanted it for the actors and studio singers.
I think Terron pretty much answered (by omission) the question "Is that Louis Price singing the David Ruffin leads?"...I'm pretty sure he would have named him instead of relegating him to "and some studio singers" if Louis had indeed done the job.

I was just at the Terron Brooks site a couple of days ago, now I`ll have to go back to check out the new stuff. Anyway, Leon can also sing. He`s in a band called The Peoples (in case you didn`t know that). I have a couple of his songs downloaded. He`s pretty good, just not what they were looking for for the David Ruffin vocals, right?

See? I did what you asked, Kalisa, and deleted the spares. I deleted two spares and when I was deleting the third, it took 'em all out! Oh well... I listed the track listing. It's essentially greatest hits. The extras are the miniseries version of "Speedo" by the Cadillacs and the two Smokey songs, one of which was the one that Smokey sang in the funeral scene. Ed

Here's something you can do if you like what you heard on the movie. Just take the songs right off of the DVD and burn them onto a CD for yourself. That's what I did. Now, I can listen to the melodious tones of Chazz Shepherd whenever the mood hits me... ;D

Ed, I agree, I have always wished the soundtrack contained the actors performances. Have you ever visited the site that has all of the songs from the movie uploaded? It's the very last link on the "links" page of this site.

I dunno, that didn't clear anything up for me. The poster who answered the question for me last week gave a better answer (when it came to Louis) than that was. Maybe I'm just not giving Teron enough credit for actually KNOWING or CARING that Louis was one of the "studio singers" or that he would mention it in the interview.
Yeah, and he just named his band that to get MY attention thinking its name was "The[o] Peoples" ;D
