I don't recall them saying why Dennis wasn't in the group anymore in the miniseries. Did you all? If they did, somebody show me.

I have seen this movie a bazillion times, and honestly, I've never heard it mentioned either. It just went from Dennis being in ,to him being out. I guess, since Dennis is alive and able to dispute any non-truths, they stayed away from him.....but, that's just my opinion. ;D

They didn't say anything and the funny thing is, I never really thought about it until recently. I didn't wonder at the time as to why he was out ................. I guess maybe the first time I saw it, I was so confused as to who Dennis was anyway I didn't notice.

well they really didn't focus on Dennis so it wa easy to kind of rub him out. I think he may have had a total of about 6 lines in the movie.

Yea...like Ivory said...didn't pay it much mind, cause he wasn't that big of a character (IN THE MOVIE). But then we used to wonder why suddenly he was with that other group of Tempts.

see that was tough for me to swallow. I was wondering when he got in contact with david and eddie. He was all of a sudden not a tempt and he as with dave and ed. it was strange to say the least.

Dennis is where Tempts history has to be known. They had to write it in the movie the way it happened. But it did let you know a lot more went down then the screen showed.

When I watched the miniseries for the first time, I had total knowledge of "the in's and out's" of Dennis' history with the group. So I understood the HOF scene, but I do remember thinking right off the bat that it was going to be awfully confusing for viewers without that knowlege.
Why they didn't at least have Otis mention Dennis' departure at some point, I don't know. It sure would have filled in that gaping hole in the storyline.
At least Dennis got a few lines. The other replacement members were virtually extras who just came and went like ghosts.

Well, with Dennis they had to at least give him a few lines. He was there for a while and had a great impact. I think Richard may have had less line, but he had lines. Did you notice how Richard's solo on Papa was taken by Dennis in the movie?
