David Sea is the most underrated vocalist today!! I absolutely agree! David Sea is a great singer -- second to none. I love the album, too. What's your favorite track?

David Sea is the most underrated vocalist today!! I heard this CD and I can't say I share your enthusiasm. I have tried to give him a fair chance to impress him, but I am just not a fan of the screaming tenors. I had the same issue with Ali Woodson for the longest time, but then I heard a few songs (when he was in the group with Theo) that really sounded good. I am glad you like him, and he certainly has his fans, but I am not among them. I prefer my singers with a deeper voice, like Melvin and Paul.

I have not heard his new CD. But I do have The Legends Tape with him singing and I must say his voice is fantastic. Also my sista in Temptations has sent me a CD with him leading "I wish it would rain" and I feel the man really blew that song away. I really enjoy listening to him. I guess it is kind of sentimental too. He sang with Eddie and David. And I love those men. And for them to have chose him to sing with them makes me know the man has something special.

((Maria)). That statement about David and Eddie choosing him to sing with them is very thoughtful. I never thought about it that way. It sure makes DS special.
David Sea, imo, has his voice under complete control; he knows what he's doing with every single note he sings.

he knows what he's doing with every single note he sings. We all know what he's doing with every single note he sings; it's called screaming.

screaming? what dennis does now a days is called screaming...david sea has a very smooth tenor voice...listen to him sing waiting for you on his CD or will you still love me tomorrow...there is no screaming in either of those songs or better yet listen to him sing i wish it would rain....if you think he screams when he sings you must be deaf or just not know a good voice when you hear it...no offense

Every track on this CD, no matter whether you like the song or not, shows that DS is a professional singer. He knows how to treat a song right, and he knows how to use his voice right. I can't say anything about Dennis because I haven't heard any new material by him. But I have heard that his voice is not what it used to be. All I can say about Dennis is that he has done a lot of great singing in his life. Certainly enough to prove that he is one of the best. I agree that Ali has a tendency for screaming -- but if someone can scream like Ali-Ollie -- let him scream as long as it pleases him. I'll always turn up the volume when he does!

Has anyone ever heard his cover of Smokey's "Ooh Baby, Baby"? I personally like Ali's rendition better than Smokey's.

But most likely he is "shouting" which is completely different than "screaming." I think David Sea's portion of Street Gold is a perfect example of screaming. That is pretty much all he did, he actually managed to sound almost as bad a Darryl Hall. And no offense taken, I don't think you have any idea what good singing sounds like either. We'll just have to agree to disagree.

I'm involved in my own group in which i sing tenor, and i also produce music...so i think i have little idea of what a good singer sounds like....No dennis is to the point of screaming when he sings...and i believe steet gold was recorded almost 20 years ago so to base someone vocals on one live performance recorded so long ago when singers also evolve and grow has no validation at all...like someone said before david eddie and dennis picked him to sing with them during street gold and i think with there experience they would pick someone who could sing, so i agree with there judgement.

How very nice for you college boy. I certainly hope you can sing better than you can write, or you have a very long life ahead of you. I can't believe you are in college and spell and write that poorly. WOW! How about instead of worrying about silly crap like who sings better than whom, you familiarize yourself with our friend, Mr. Comma, who could possibly make some sense of that jumbled mess you just compiled. And just so you know a LITTLE something, Eddie chose David Sea, David Ruffin and Dennis had nothing to do with it.

David Sea's "Born To Sing" album also showcases his vocal abilities, imo.
