This morning I heard one of the greatest renditions of "Stand By Me". When I inquired as to who was the artist doing the song it was bought to my attention that it was Jimmy Ruffins, but what made it so unique was that there was a voice in the background that sounded like David. Has anyone else heard this rendition? I've heard it! David is good as always ... and the two brothers are perfectly complementing each other. David hits the high notes real carefully: I think he doesn't want to come across as showing off. No doubt, he could have sung the heck out of this song all by himself.

Can anyone upload this song so the rest of us can hear it. Or direct us to where we can find it

It's funny you said that Anna because on the rest of the album David is doing just that. It really does seems like he's trying to compete with his brother and puts his all into every track. Especially there version of "Didn't I Blow Your Mind". Lord Have Mercy!!!! Ruff tears the roof off with this track.

It must be too difficult to hold all that singing inside him back. The man was a natural "tear-a-song-upper." ;D I know the "Didn't I Blow Your Mind" song!!! David will be David.

I agree, JImmy and David's voices sound very similar. I have the "Stand By Me" and I would try to pick out who was singing. I did fine until I got to a certain part, and then I just couldn't tell. But I read an interview with Jimmy, and he said that in recording that song, it was done in several sessions. However, David did not show up for the last session, and Jimmy had to sing both parts. No wonder I couldn't tell.

I am trying to find the part where David is missing. I hear him throughout the song, though. Although their voices are similar, there's a distinct difference between them, imo. Could you perhaps point out the location on the track so I can go back and check ...
