Think about this: 1. Phoenix Rising 2. Ear-resiable 3. Awesome 4. Legacy 5. Reflections 6. Back to Front
If you think about all the songs on these last (6) CD'S the best song that was good and sounded like the Temptations was "Stay" The arrangement was great! Even the accapella version was off the hook! "STAY" was their last hit single. "Phoenix Rising" was their last hit CD!
What do you think?

I WOULD ALSO INCLUDE " PROMISE" AND "HOW COULD HE HURT YOU" So would I. And let me say this: They have not been the same without Theo. Listen to him on For Lovers Only too.

I agree also Theo was an excellent singer and had such great potential as a Temptation. I think he could have been the one to continue the line of larger the life lead singers. It was obvious listening to him that he was greatly influenced by Ali. I've always believed that if Otis would have abandoned his useless fixation with the Weak boy and allowed Theo to be the frontman he would be around awhile longer. His work on Stay was nothing short of phenomenal. Someone alse alluded to For Lovers Only, I was really feeling that especially Ive Grown Accustomed to Her Face.

You Know
I loved Theo's work and Phoenix Plus Lovers are the best two albums that the guys have put out in years. The thing is that I would have never wanted Theo to be that Main lead. Now...I would have picked him over Terry but that would have been because Ali was not there. Ali had the magic. He was the last great Tempts lead. I must say tho that The Bruce guy has some great potential. I love him On "Never gonna Give you up" so much I had to stop listening to it. I was on it every day. So to me It goes like this
1. Phoenix 2. Legacy 3. Back to Front 4. Reflections 5. Ear 6 Awesome
It was something about Bo that I just did not Like.

This is relevant becuase this is how I chose my order for this topic tman It comes down to Theo and GC and its tough for me as I really like both of these cats. GC brings that veteran presence and that certain swagger consistent with the infamous Temptation leads. Theo has the most beautiful natural voice of any guy to sing with the group ( in my opinion) his upside was limitless. I think at the end of the day it would be Theo but not by a landslide.

Jonsesgirl, you are right. There is a certain magic in Theo's live performance that doesn't come through on the records. I too melted when I saw him in person.

Question Maybe for another Thread Who would you take if the choices were Theo, G.C. or Bruce. This is relevant becuase this is how I chose my order for this topic tman I think I know where you going with this, there are times when Bruce sounds similar to Theo and other times GC. He just doesnt have that special something about his singing that makes his performances memorable or should I say legendary. I know each of us relates to music differently and what we respond to is different but as I listened to Wake Up Everybody I kept waiting for Bruce to get to a certain part of the song that he would make his own statement with. It just didnt happen and honestly speaking on Back inLove again he was all over the place but not doing anything spectacular anywhere. That is what separates the average form the extrordinary. When you listen to David and Ali you heard guys that were masters at emphasis and ad lib never too much and always on time. I didnt include Dennis because aerobics (vocal) werent his thing. Now when it comes to power singing Dennis was unmatched. Bruce has power but his voice changes too much to enjoy. Sad to say but this group is just not very good and Bruce isnt making it any better.
