What if Kell had stayed with Paul and Eddie and had become part of the Temptations with Otis and Melvin Franklin. Kell had a nice voice and definitely would have been a lead singer. Now the Tempts have always been described as five lead singers so that would not have been a problem.
What is interesting is wondering how it would have changed the kinds of songs they sang, or whether they would have continued to alternate leads as they did in the beginning and continued to do on many of their big hits.
You can hear Kell's voice on four different songs on The Soul Club's website.

Go to the Soul Club website and hear Kell's voice. He left the Primes and went to California where he is still living. Kell, Eddie and Paul left Birmingham and went first to Ohio and then Detroit. When things looked bleak for the Primes, Kell went to California and Eddie went back to Birmingham, only to return to Detroit to visit Paul, and the rest is history. When you go to the website, you will find Kell's name listed with 3-5 songs, only his name is listed by his first name. So go to the K's, not the O's.
