Mary Wilson will be in concert in Minneapolis on Oct. 8 and 9. I have never seen any of the supremes in concert. I think it should be a pretty good show. OCTOBER 8-9 up close and personal with MARY WILSON of the Supremes - the original dreamgirl It was a vision of musical stardom as a Detroit teen that inspired Mary Wilson to co-found one of the most successful female singing groups in recording history – The Supremes. Since then, Wilson has gone on to be a part of dozens of hit records, has written a best-selling autobiography, performed on stage and screen, lectured and toured the world, and continues to be looked up to as a singer who set the standard for females in the recording industry. In 1988, The Supremes were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, receiving the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award, which Wilson personally accepted. With a successful solo career – and new CD out later this year – an equally successful literary career and her tireless humanitarian efforts, Mary’s future couldn’t look brighter.

A new CD out later this year....hmmmm, interesting. I've never heard Mary by herself except for on "Can't Take My Eyes Off You", which she did with (according to her book) one of her "biggest hearthrobs" Eddie Kendricks. I really enjoyed her books "Dreamgirl : My Life As a Supreme" and "Supreme Faith". I wish all the best for Mary!

I just came back from the Mary Wilson show.
First of all she is 63 and she looks great!
She did an intimate set for about two hours. She reflects on her days a Supreme as those years whe she and Flo sand their oohs and aahs and she refers to Diana Ross as Diane. She did sing one Supremes song "my world is empty without you".
I've never heard her live or without the Supremes, but her smooth polished voice enchanted me all evening. She said that the new songs are going to be slow ballads. She started the show with a couple of ballads that I have never heard - some of the new stuff maybe?
After an encore, she came back on stage and sang "what a wonderful world", assured us that she loved us and said she hopes to come back.
All in all a tremendous performance.
