Yeah! There she is!!! Pretty baby!!!!
Peach, I don't clip my cats' back claws, I don't think you have to do that, but I'm not sure. That's what I read anyway, just the front ones.

CAN YOU TELL THE GENDER OF THIS THREAD? 99 PERCENT CATS AND 99 PERCENT LADIES! LET'S TALK ABOUT PERFUME AND UNDERWEAR NEXT! i have had bad luck with pets- 3 dogs died, 1 was given away, 1 ran away, 2 cats ran away, 1 was given away, 1 cat left that doesn't like anyone but constance. 1 parakeet, 6 finches, loads of fish in a tank when i was a kid, all died. a turtle named ralphie died too. pet lizards also went to heaven. when our best friends died in the car crash in 99, we saved their dog from destruction for 2 yrs until he was too cancerous to live. constance loved him .

Thanks Ivory on the info about what to do when the kittys leave a "present." I knew that from my cat before Milli - Chablis who I had for 17 yrs before he died of old age. Chablis was a damn good mouser so from time to time I got used to his "presents" and learned to "accept" them in the spirit it was meant...... ;D
I agree with you also on the subject of declawing. I am vehemently against it also. It's a painful process, slow healing and their claws are their main means of defense. Milli just gets her front ones clipped at the vet, we leave the back ones alone.

I had read somewhere that, if you didn't trim the back claws, they could grow "curved" and grow into their little paw pads. But it may have been a bunch o' hooey. I just barely trim the ends off....those suckers get so sharp. Since she plays with my mom's dog and gets a little rowdy, I thought that would make her less of a lethal weapon. Peach

GREAT NEWS!!!!  Ginger's back safe and sound, although very wet and frightened. It all began at 4:00am. when I opened the door to let her out for her "business", it was raining so hard that she was afraid to go out and being since I had just got out of bed, I didn't feel like getting soaked either, so I thought if she has to GO bad enough she'll go on out to her usual spot in the back yard and come back to the door on her own....NOT!!! She immediately ran down my driveway and up the street with me in hot pursuit in the pouring rain, still dark outside with house shoes and nightie on. She ran into someone's driveway about 6 doors down and by the time I got there she was GONE, no where to be found. I ran back to the house, got my daughter up and we jumped in the car and drove around the neighborhood with flashlights shining in everyones yard...No Luck. So we decided to wait until daylight and look again, meanwhile we're waiting and watching out the door in hopes of her finding her way back home. 3 hours passed and NOTHING...I'm losing it now because I'm only thinking about her being splattered all over the road somewhere. At 8:00, I called the SPCA to see if anyone had called her in...NOTHING. Around 8:30, my phone rang and this nice gentleman said, Miss Classic?, I said , Yes?..he said, we have Ginger in our garage and she's very frightened can you come and get her? Needless to say, I forgot what else he said...then it dawned on me to ask him where he was..LOL ..he gave me the address which was about 5 streets away from us and we went over there and there she was with the lady that rescued her. The lady said..I was just on my morning walk and I went down to tie my shoe and your dog just came out of the dark and came right up to me narrowly getting missed by a car. She took her home and traced Ginger's dog tags back to us and her husband called me.....What a MORNING, we're safe and sound now. Thanks Ivory & Kalisa for your kind words temptsinfo.com/smilies/wtg.gif

Whew! What a scare! I know from one of my cats getting out a couple of times how scarry that can be. What's even funnier is how paniked you can get when you can't find your cat and you KNOW he's somewhere IN the house!!!! That happened to a cat I'd adopted the day before, I woke and went to look for her, couldn't find her anywhere. I just about convinced myself that she'd vanished into thin air or maybe I'd just DREAMEd that I'd adopted her. But there she was, hiding under a chair. Anyway, glad to hear Ginger's ok.
