we lost 3 marines from camp pendleton which is 15 min from my house-in that helicopter crash on friday. we also lost another young lt. from la mesa, which is a suburb of san diego, to ANOTHER HELICOPTER CRASH- 2 BRITISH COPTERS COLLIDED. then some u.s. soldier throws 3 grenades at our OWN TENTS- kills1 and wounds13.
we are killing ourselves in helicopter crashes and in turncoats and in accidents. what gives?
i talked to a marine buddy of mine with a wife and 1 child. he's on standby, and he shudders to think about the obsolete dangerous helicopters that he's ridden on. he's not too happy to ever go on one again.

I can see why. But it's messed up that right now most of our casualties haven't come from combat, but from helicopter crashes, or some kind of accidents of that sort.

Yeah, what makes this thing even more INSANE is the fact that we've only lost one soldier to enemy combat (although as I watch this, there are a group of soldiers missing, saying a little prayer.) All of the others have died as the result of friendly fire or neglegence. "Does anybody give a d*mn, about this fool who's named Saddam? STOP THE WAR!"

My 19 year old nephew ,C.J., is one of the Marines from Camp Pendleton who is over there now. I am so worried about him. Every time I hear about another casualty I get scared that we'll get news that he is one of them. Pray for Peace home.carolina.rr.com/winniepoohplace/images/usa ribbon.gif[/img]

Peace I leave with you, My peace I give unto you-not as the world giveth, give I unto you:let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. john 14:27
''fear not I am with thee,oh be not afraid, for I am thy God and will still give thee aid. I'll strengthen thee ,help thee, and cause thee to stand. upheld by my righteous, upheld by my righteous, upheld by my righteous omnipotent hand." (How firm a foundation)
''keep the commandments, keep the commandments,in this there is safety in this there is peace.''-children's primary songbook
''who can i turn for peace, where is my solace, when other sources cease to make me whole?-church hymn

Sukka, you just missed my favorite part of my favorite scripture.......
And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. John 14:16-18
And then when he made good on his promise.....
Jesus spoke these things, then raised His eyes to heaven, and said: Father, the hour has come.....I am no longer in the world, but they are in the world, and I am coming to You. Holy Father, protect them by Your name that You have given Me, so that they may be one just as We are. While I was with them I was protecting them by Your name that You have given Me. I guarded them and not one of them is lost, except the son of destruction, that the Scripture may be fulfilled. Now I am coming to You, and I speak these things in the world so that they may have My joy completed in them. I have given them Your word. The world hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. I am not praying that You take them out of the world, but that You protect them from the evil one. John 17:1 and 11-15
Very comforting words in times like this.

Ivory and my wonderful twin brother Sukkafu, If I didn't know we were kindred spirits before - I am thouroughly convinced of it now. John 14 is also MY favorite scripture. My favorite verses are: 1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. 2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. I find such comfort in this passage. It reminds me that there are no worries in this world that can get me down as long as I remember these words - like Bobby McFerrin put it... "don't worry.... be happy". "Our God is an awesome God... He reigns from heaven above with wisdom, power and love.... our God is an awesome God!"

I think that's a favorite of a lot of folks. Another good one is my father's favorite........... But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. Isaiah 40:31 ............ This is a bit morbid, but I'm gonna have it inscribed on his headstone, hopefully a LONG time from now. I don't know if he even realizes it but it suits him so well. "They that wait upon the Lord," He's a minister "they shall mount up with wings as eagles" he loves to fly and here lately, "they shall walk and not faint" he broke his foot really badly last summer and is just now starting to walk on his own power.

This one has been in my mind and on my lips for several weeks now... "It shall come to pass in the latter days that the mountain of the house of the LORD shall be established as the highest of the mountains, and shall be raised up above the hills; and peoples shall flow to it, and many nations shall come, and say: "Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; that he may teach us his ways and we may walk in his paths." For out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem. He shall judge between many peoples, and shall decide for strong nations afar off; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more." Micah 4: 1 - 3

when you watch the movie ''remember the titans'' , the high school kids recite that wings like eagles scripture and they start getting fired up and ready for their game.
the united nations building has that plowshares scripture on the outside.
search the scriptures;for in them ye think ye have eternal life;and they are they which testify of me.john 5:39
