Jimmy was a Tempt....for a song....BORN TO LOVE YOU! (HERE STANDS A MAN WITH HIS FUTURE IN YOUR HANDS) Jimmy was not as good a singer as David.Did not have the range like David.

he's still alive ,right? i guess jimmy was either luckier than david or didn't have the same weaknesses that led to david's demise.
can he still sing or desire to tour?

Are you two still fighting over Jimmy and David? ;D
Speaking of Jimmy Ruffin, I have an lp done in the 80s I think entitled SUNRISE that was produced by the Gibb Brothers I believe. I'll have to chaeck the dates when I go home today.

Historical note:
The Isley Brothers did a track, "Smile", that has the same music as "Brokenhearted". The track is raw, but could've been very good, when polished.
Since "Brokenhearted" was originally produced with the Spinners in mind, it shows the flexibility producers had.
Remember, Dennis Edwards and the Contours did a version of "Brokenhearted", too.

For "Brokenhearted", try Ultimate Rarities Collections: Motown Sings Motown's Treasures, vol 1
As for "Smile", I'll find the link which also may give you an opportunity to hear Ricky Owens and the Vibrations.

I don't hear him as a Temptations, but what a story teller. So, maybe he would be okay. I think he was really good, maybe he could have fit the mold.

I like the songs they did together where there's equal amounts of both in them. He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother was like, all Jimmy. I mean, the man can sing and everything, but I wants DAVID!
Stand By Me was an enjoyable one, especially the part where they break it down. "Jimmy stand by my side... Every once in a while I might need a ride..."
Didn't I (Blow Your Mind This Time) and Turn Back The Hands of Time... I like those, too.
