From his web site... "We are very sorry to deliver the sad news that Fred Rogers died on February 27, 2003 after a brief battle with stomach cancer. We are grateful for the many people, young and old, who have cared about his work over the years and who continue to appreciate Mister Rogers' Neighborhood on PBS. We hope that you'll join us in celebrating his life by reflecting on his messages and taking them into your everyday lives." Ok my fellow generation x-ers, in tribute to the man who taught more things to more children than any stuffed purple dinosaur EVER could, join me in a lyrics sing-around........ It's such a good feeling, to know you're alive, It's such a happy feeling, you're growing inside....
take it somebody! Ivory pours a little Kool-aid on the ground in honor of everyone's favorite "neighbor."www.cnn.com/2003/SHOWBIZ/TV/02/27/rogers.obit/index.htmlwww.misterrogers.org/

I was broken up by the news. Seriously, I still can't believe it. He's one of the reasons why I'm so proud to say I'm from Pittsburgh. One of my last vestiges of carefree childhood. When I met him, I was the PROUDEST five year old in the world. He's being welcomed into a much more palatial neighborhood, but I'm sad he's leaving our neighborhood.

This is so sad! I heard that he died this morning and I have a shirt with him on it that says "Won't you be my neighbor?" and I was going to wear it but the musical our school is putting on is opening tonight so I had to dress for success. This is so sad! I remember when I still lived in Houston I would always watch him at Day Care. His show seriously rocked!

I never watched his show all the way through. I wasn't much of a Mr. Roger's fan, 'cause he was too sweet for me. Still, even though you know the cycle of life: you're born, you live, and then you die, it's still sad.

Here's my favorite Mr. Rogers song........ Some are fancy on the outside. Some are fancy on the inside. Everybody's fancy. Everybody's fine. Your body's fancy and so is mine.
Boys are boys from the beginning. Girls are girls right from the start. Everybody's fancy. Everybody's fine. Your body's fancy and so is mine.
Girls grow up to be the mommies. Boys grow up be the daddies. Everybody's fancy. Everybody's fine. Your body's fancy and so is mine.
I think you're a special person And I like your ins and outsides. Everbody's fancy. Everybody's fine. Your body's fancy and so is mine. pbskids.org/rogers/songlist/song4_ra.html
