Okay kids, New Years day is fast approaching and you know what that means, it's time for...... NEW YEARS RESOLUTIONS!!!Mine for this year is to give up all froms of caffine. I have a serious addiction to the stuff so I know that giving it up won't be an easy feat, but I'm going to give it a try. After a week I will probably look like this or like this ! What resolutions does everyone else have?

resolutions are a waste of time. a goal unwritten is only a wish. write your goal down specifically. don't be vague like -in 2003 i'm gonna be rich or make more money.
do these things- and i GUARANTEE that you will have a much better success rate. first, let me share with you something. please take it as not bragging but as a sort of resume or history.
i have always set goals in my life and when i have followed my dreams, and written them down, and repeated them, i was blessed by God with success.
i set out to win the spelling bee in class and studied the words and won, then won the spelling bee in 3rd grade. and 4th grade. and 5th grade. and 6th grade. and went to the ny state regional finals. i was skipped a grade-went from 2nd to 3rd. had a tough time as a kid so i set a goal to be the #1 student in the higher grade. i was ! i studied so hard the kids called me bookworm. i used to get picked last in sports because i wasn't a sports type in my younger days. i ended up later in life setting a goal to practice hitting a ball 100 times per day and catching and ended up on 3 championship softball teams. i set a goal to be the top salesman in my dealership-at 21 with no prior experience. i studied the brochures and product books and worked extra hours. i was last my first month, 7th my second month, tied for first in my 3rd month, and was top in my 4th month, and was top salesman 9 times in 18 months. in 1984 i was fired by a delaership for lack of sales. i returned to that dealership 6 months later and was salesman of the month 7 out of the next 9 months and won a cruise for 2 to the caribbean with elise-paid by the very guys that canned me!in 1987, i was selling caddies when the market crashed so while things were bad they had office contests for knowing the most about caddies-with 100 bucks a week cash-i studied every night and won 6 out of 7 weeks-i had to feed the kiddies! i set the written goal to be the number one in my cuthroat auto insurance office. i competed with 200 agents in the company and was 1st in san diego and 4th in the company. i din't work sundays and i wouldn't cheat, so i didn't get first. i have plaques at home and i was the 1990 agent of the year in northern cal even though i was a manager of 6 people! it's because I SET GOALS, REVIEWED THEM , and read them daily and kept picturing myself as achieving them. in 1992 i was asked to open an office and start up a new region. i went from me myself and i to running 4 offices-and making manager of the year 4yrs in a row! i actually got fired as manager of the year because the owner said i was too good and i was making too much $$-so he fired me!
i took a chance and completely changed careers into real estate and mortgages. my friend took me on and taught me a lot-some about the biz but 80 percent was about writing down goals! i ended up being his partner for a year and a half and i invested some $$ into his construction and made 44 percent return! i now have my own biz and my goal was to be strong enough to get my son in. not only has my goal worked, but now my other goal of getting him in another house after he had to sell his 1st house-was realized! i set a goal to have the best december ever- and made double my goal!
i want to stop caffeine-is good! but here's how, brown sugar-

first you write down your goals-let's take shug's goal of no caffeine. so we write it down. like this-
i will stop drinking any caffeinated drinks by july 1st. how i will accomplish it is in this way
1- i will no longer buy any 2- i will say no thanks if offered 3- i will replace all my drinks with bottled water or fresh juices 4- i will ask all my friends, co workers, and family to support me . 5-i will vocalize my goals so that everyone knows i am supposed to do it and it will keep me on the path to success. i don't want to fail and be embarrassed. 6- i will review my goals in the morning, afternoon and evening. i will write them down, i will post them on my computer, on my dresser, on my bathroom mirror, and see them every day. 7- i will give myself a reward for this -like a nice dinner at fancy place, or a weekend away, or a new dress. 8- i will place a picture of my reward as a screensaver, on my mirror, in conspicuous places so i have a carrot dangling in front of me at all times. 9- i will review my progress. i also will not set unreachable goals like - i will lose 50 lbs next week. setting attainable goals, reaching them and setting new higher goals is the way to long lasting success. 10- i will correct my paths if they get crooked and i will stay the course. constant reminders of my goals keeps the vison alive.
THAT'S HOW RESOLUTIONS END UP MEANING SOMETHING. DO YOU WANT TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN LIFE? READ ''THE 7 HABITS OF HIGHLY EFFECTIVE PEOPLE'' BY DR. STEPHEN R. COVEY. OR READ ''THINK AND GROW RICH'' BY NAPOLEON HILL. OR READ TONY ROBBINS OR BRIAN TRACY OR JIM ROAN OR MARK VICTOR HANSEN OR LES BROWN OR ART WILLIAMS.
DO IT!!!

I, Ivory Fair, do hereby resolve to eat more sweets so that the sugar industry doesn't suffer because of all you low-carb folks! It will be a grueling task, but I'll manage...... somehow!

sukkafu- I like your resolution about seeing all the groups and getting together with all these wonderful Temptaholics somewhere this year! I resemble that remark ;D I resolve to find quiet time to pray and read the Bible every day, to give my best effort when I commit to a project, to make sure my family knows how much I love them. to be a true friend, and to make myself exercise for better health. To paraphrase Gil Scott Heron... "The Resolution Will Not Be Televised"
