Have you guys heard the Mama's and the Papa's sing My Girl? I think it's a disgrace to humanity. But isn't it an honor when other groups do other peoples songs?

Great! I'm not even on for 30 minutes and I already have the hiccups! There's something about these Temptations boards.........

LOL! Girl, you've brought the hiccup virus over from iMusic, LOL! Oh well, we forgive you, but only because it's (((((you)))))!
I haven't heard the Mama's and Papa's version of "My Girl," I'll have to check that out.
And just FYI, one of the great things about this forum is that you can delete your messages. Just go to your post and select "remove." At least I think you can do it, I know *I* can, so if anyone ever has a post they want deleted and need some help, feel free to IM me!

I'm listening to the Mama's and Papa's version now..... actually I don't think it's all that bad. Just shows what a beautiful song it is.

Hi DBaby!!!!! No, I've never heard The Mamas and The Papas sing "My Girl". Only my favorites......."Monday, Monday" and "California Dreamin'". I guess Mama Cass doesn't do lead? otherwise it would be "My Guy"?

No Jonel, it's kinda a group thing. On a personal note, I just hate it when women change the lyrics to "My Guy," I mean I know that's the logical thing to do, but that's NOT THE WAY SMOKEY WROTE THE SONG AND YOU JUST DON'T ALTER PERFECTION!!!!! Anyway, Smokey wrote the song about his daughter not his wife, so it's really a gender-neutral song. Used to sing it to my late (((((Scrootey-cat))))) all the time.
