i was listening to my tempts anthology cd's in the car today and i heard paul's voice ringing out on don't look back, trading leads with dennis on cloud 9,can't get next to you, psychedelic shack, just my imagination, and of course when he sang oh mother of mine, and i want a love i can see. what a voice! not only was poopie a great singer, but he was largely responsible for the terrific synchronicity of the dance steps and although they had motown coaching as well through legendary chollie atkins who also coached the pips, still it was paul that had the energy and movement that made the songs become performances and not just records, and the tempts not just hit singers but show stoppers to this day. 8) all i can say is POOPIE we miss you and we're sorry your life turned out so tragic. you had so much more to give, paul. but your songs and voice still inspire us temptaholics today -ain't that right jonel, ivory, kalisa2, ken-du, puff baby, aka the fuf, bodacious, ronafied, valleyval, creamy ,etcetera!

I think, like you said Sukka, Paul is very missed when it comes to the choreography. Cholly is wonderful at what he does, but after Paul left, there was a noticeable change in their dance steps. Cholly often talked about how Paul's moves were "street" moves whiles his steps were from formal training. The Classic Five were a joy to watch because of the combination of the two, and after Paul's death the stree element seemed to vanish. This was the man after all who, along with the rest of the group, came up with the dance steps for "Get Ready" in 45 minutes. Cholly still contributes wonderful ideas to the group's choreography, but Paul infulence is definately missed.
