Like the new board Ivory! I'm giving Mygirl2 a rest so it's still me - just with a new name! Heard on Tom Joyner this morning that he saw Dennis' Tempts Review in St. Louis over the weekend. BTW, he brought this up right after he played "Stay." He went on to say that when they did "Stay", they brought up the "original" lead on the song, Theo Peoples, who proceeded to blow the audience away! He said that Theo was fired before Phoenix was released and that the released version of "Stay" does not have Theo on it. Of course, he and J. Anthony Brown went on to make jokes about, "did Otis know they did "Stay" and "was Otis at the concert?" Tom Joyner said that when they got to the part "Temptations Sing" that is exactly what Theo sang - J. Anthony wanted to know - "he didn't say "Temptations Review Sing" - Tom said "No, he said "Temptations Sing" and SANG the hell out of it! I get the impression that Otis is not one of Tom's favorite people - BTW, They did "Stay" when I saw them in NY last summer, and as I said in my post then, they performed the hell out of it, and when they got to that "infamous" line - they did it in an "in your face" way - so I guess with adding Theo, the original lead on the song - they are definitely sending a message! Just a little FYI for a Monday Morning! ;D

Well now! I would have LOVED to have seen Theo sing that! When he sang with the Tops at Wolf Trap last year, Theo ended "Always and Forever" with a little taste of "This is My Promise". I listened to Tom Joyner this morning but I didn't catch those particular comments. St. Louis is Theo's hometown....at least that is where he was "discovered" by the Tempts and where his father pastors a church.

Mili, to say that O is not one of TJ's favorite people is the understatement of the day. Even before this tour with the Review started, there was bad blood between the two of them. I don't know where it started or anything obviously, but I do know that I have major issues with Tom using his show to dog the man out (even though, admittedly, he has every right to do so.) Remember my comment the other day about how we never hear O or Dennis saying anything negative about one another publicly? Well, I think Tom needs to read that post. :-) I know Tom has money on the line now, and that there have apparently been efforts on O's part to stop some of the shows, or tickets sales because of the name issue. But, in short, be a man Tom, and hush. Now, as for Theo, man oh MAN! how I wish I had been there to hear him perform "Stay." Mili, maybe Tom was confused but while Theo left the group before Phoenix was released, that's definitely him leading both "Stay" and "This is My Promise." He's also singing background on "If I Give You My Heart," and a few others. The only song *I* think Bo is on is "How Could He Hurt You." Jonel............ they usually have clips of the show on TJ's web site. You found it yet?

Ivory, thanks for the update on Theo performing "Stay" and "This is my promise" - "Promise" is my favorite on the cd! Like you said, I don't know where the bad blood is coming from between them, but you could definitely hear TJ enjoying those digs he got in at O's expense. It's good to know that O & Dennis have enough class to keep their feelings about each other out of the public venue. Now that I know for sure that it's Theo on my two favorite songs from the cd, I'll be listening with a sharper ear! Thanks, girl!
