in 1965, nbc had a music variety show on called hullabaloo. it featured 4 or more acts with a guest host every week. i watched it as a kid, along with ed sullivan and hollywood palace. i went to the public library today and for 50 cents i rented a dvd for 1 week of 4.5 hrs of hullabaloo highlights. no tempts , although briefly mentioned, BUT---- the supremes, including them singing sugar pie the marvelettes martha and the vandellas marvin gaye smokey robinson and the miracles the four tops plus non motown singers like leslie uggams and dionne warwick, plus sammy davis jr.chuck berry as well.i didn' mention the tons of rock and folk acts either. it was amazing how young and cool they looked and sang! check this out! i'm going to see if i can get another one with the tempts on it.

There's also supposed to have been an appearance by Frankie Lymon in the latter part of his career (or at least that's the way it happened in the movie, "Why Do Fools Fall in Love?")

(Doing my impersonation of FLS) "Why yes, I used to watch Hullabaloo all the time after school, and my best friend and I used to do dance routines to it." Btw, tomorrow is FLS's 29th birthday! Everyone wish her a happy one!
