Alright all of you wild and crazy Temptations addicted fanantics ( myself included ) here is the latest on our favorite vocal masters . They were in Memphis Tennessee Saturday May 26 for the Memphis in May Sunset Symphony . This is the climax of a month long celebration starting with the Memphis Music festival which saw the likes of Steely Dan , John Legend , Corrine Bailey Rae and a multitude of other music superstars on the first weekend of May . On May 18th and 19th we had the World Championship Barbeque Cooking Contest . Last night it was the Sunset Symphony . All of this on the banks of the Mississippi River . Now Memphis in May has a history of almost being washed away by rain , it's something every Memphian has learned to expect and accept as an inevitable fact of life . Well as a sure sign of the coming apocalypes there was no rain except a small shower during one day of the Music Festival . We are all in shock . Anyway , the day started at 2pm when the gates opened . There was music by local artist and an awsome air show and then the Memphis Symphony rocked our socks off . At 8pm five smooth singing and dancing gentlemen stepped on stage in beautiful yellow tails . Now this is my review of the show . DAMN , IT DON"T MAKE NO SINCE FOR A SHOW TO BE THIS DAMN GOOD !!! From the opening notes of " How Sweet It Is To Be Loved By You " til the time they walked off of the stage after their encore , Terry , Big O , Joe , G. C. , Ron sent the crowd into an eargasmic frenzy . I was beside a woman from Southern California who came to town just for the holiday weekend to visit Graceland , came downtown to check out Beale Street and heard about the Tempts being in concert and quickly made her way to the river . " I can't believe I'm seeing The Temptations , I just can't believe it " was all she said as she danced beside me . When they introduced the group members it was mentioned that G. C. now lives in Memphis . I heard some women planning to stalk him , watch out G. C. my man . The only thing that disappointed me was my guys didn't do " OL Man River " . I saw the Reunion Tour on August 9th of 1982 at The Mud Island Amphithearter on the banks of The Mississippi with the lights of the Memphis skyline behind them and Melvins booming basso profundo sweetly singing " OL Man River " made a lasting impression on me . It just would have been great to relive the moment with Joe singing the song too. All in all I can truly say it was one sweet day . Well thats all gang I hope you have a great Memorial Day weekend mine has started off great . Peace my Brothers and Sisters .
