Hello all. A little late concert review here. March 8, 2007 we went to The Tempts & Tops show. Overall, it was a good show. They opened with the good ole classic's such as Papa Was a Rolling Stone, The Way You Do The Things You do, You're My Everything, Just My Imagination, etc etc. They did not do Standing On The Top, which was surprising to me, they did the last time I saw them. They closed with Stay, personally I just like the classics and not too much of the "newer" stuff. They promoted their latest album "Reflections" with doing How sweet it is. Also surprising to me, was no mention of David, Eddie, Paul or Melvin. (Maybe time was an issue)~
I'm pretty sure I looked dumb singing and doing their choreography along with them. They seemed to enjoy it though, especially Otis. The lady next to me caught a sweat rag from Terry, so that was sort of interesting. The best part, for me anyway, was when the microphone was in our faces to sing, "You're My Everything"...
GC, in my opinion does a lot better with the Tempts than he used to. I saw a show when he first joined I think it was around October of either 2002 or 2003. I can't remember. I enjoyed his flirting, I must say. Joe (first time I've seen him) does a wonderful job!
The Four Tops was an interesting show, I swear, and I told Obie's son that he looks just like his dad. I think he took that as a major compliment as he blushed and grinned from ear to ear. ;D I was glad to finally see Duke. I've never seen the tops before. They opened with Baby I Need Your Loving, second song was Bernadette, and really the rest I wasn't too familiar with.
Anyway, it was a good show and thought I'd share.
