They performed in my hometown at Brooklyn College as well as Mary Wilson. The Tempts Review started out with Standing On The Top, which probably surprised the whole audience, because I myself wasn't expecting that, then right after they performed Hello Young Lovers,I mean the performances were great, just a little surprising, but it was all good. We all know that Ali Woodson is with them now, so with that being said they performed "Lady Soul", "Some Enchanted Evening", "Treat Her Like A Lady". Yo Ali Woodson still has it. He' a great addition to the group, he gives them another dimension.
The bass Mike Padillo, sung lead on a "Rainy Night In Georgia", he really did his thing on that one. He reminded me of Melvin. But before he started singing he started talking to the audience and the women started to lose it. Ya'll just go crazy over those brothers with deep voices. I mean I got a deep voice too so i know exactly what bass singers go through, but anyway, it was all good. They sung "Get Ready","The Way You Do The Things You Do","Ain't Too Proud To Beg", now when David Sea was singing, when he grabbed the microphone stand, he pulled it to the left and it broke in half, which made everbody laugh, but the funny thing was the expression on his face, which cracks me up every time I think about it,but he finished the performance along with the other Tempts. The way he sang lead on "I Wish It Would Rain" would've made David Ruffin proud. Another song I wasn't expecting was "Beauty's Only Skin Deep", but once again it was all good, the singing and choreography was tight. After that surprise I was kind of hoping for "Since I Lost My Baby", but it wasn't performed, but it's all good. They sung "Papa Was A Rolling Stone" and "Memories", I'm surprised they didn't sing CLoud NIne or I Can't Get Next To You. They also performed"My Girl,"then"Just My Imagination",then they went back into My Girl and that's how the show ended.
WHen Dennis paid tribute to the 4 original Temptations, Paul and Melvin got a decent round of applause, so then he said David's name and I thought the crowd was going to go crazy, but they didn't,he got the same round of applause as did Paul and Melvin, but when he said Eddie's name, What, the women went crazy, they started screaming and making alot of noise. I think that's always one of the highlights of The Tempts Review's show's there is always a tribute to the original Tempts who have passed.
I enjoyed the whole show, of course when Dennis asked the audience to get up and do The Temptation Walk, I had to represent, I was doing my thing. It's wild, because I'm used to watching people do it on the dvd's in the audience, now I was the one who was Tempt walking in the audience. The Tempts Review featuring Dennis Edwards did their thing. I must say I did get a little headache from the loudness of the instruments, we were in a school auditorium,I think the musicians must have thought we were in a football stadium. It was so loud I probably could've heard it from my house and I live 10 minutes away. It was a great show though. Temptations forever.
Mary Wilson did her thing as well, she was singing and moving well on stage. She was cracking jokes, making us laugh, she's a great performer. She invited people up on stage to come and dance, I didn't go up, but I got a kick out of watching some of those people dance and some them trying to dance, it was a good show. Mary almost broke down when she was talking about Florence Ballard. She sung "You Are So Beautiful To Me", "You Can't Hurry Love", "Stop In The Name Of Love", "Come See About Me", "Love Child", "Reflections","Baby Love", I know she sang, "My World Is Empty Without You","Someday We'll be Together",I think she sang "You Keep Me Hanging on", she sang I believe two other songs that weren't Supreme songs, but she did an excellent job. I'm not sure if she sang "Where Did Our Love Go", damn my memory is fading, but yeah like I said she did her thing.
It was a great night.
