:yourrock :yourrock :yourrock :yourrock :yourrock Hi! Got a chance to see the Temptations and the 4 Tops in concert at New Brunswick NJ's State Theater last night, and it was awesome, to put it mildly. I was in the seventh row, and the view was unobstructed. The Temptations opened the show with "The Way You Do the Things You Do," and it all rose from there. The place started smoking, and never cooled down. "Ball of Confusion was updated to reflect today's drug of choice "Selling pills is at an all-time high, young folks walking round with their heads in the sky......" and its message rings true today, just as it did 35 years ago. Everything they did in their 1 1/2 hour was strictly Temptations. They have the moves, and the addition of GJ, former lead singer of the Spinners gives this lineup a sound as close to the C5 Temptations as there ever was. Ali still does his Eddie Kendricks match flawlessly, and Ron Tyson gets better and better with his Paul Williams leads. GJ is singing the David Ruffin/Dennis Edwards leads, and soounds so much like david that when you close your eyes, you think he's there. After the intermission, the 4 Tops gave their hour, and there was a lot of cover work. Seems like the Tops had to start slow, but by the end of the show, they, too, had the place jumping. If they come into your area, it's a show that you don't want to miss. You WILL come out of the theater feeling fully entertained. Joe Szulczewski

I saw the article. Don't agree with it, as Otis (and Dennis for the Review Group) have tried to keep the soound and mystique of the Temptations alive, and have done a pretty good job over the years.

I am Glad you had a great time at your show!! I knew you would…Did you get any pics? By the way his name is G.C. Cameron and he sings most of David’s leads, and Ron Tyson sings Eddie he is the first tenor, and (last one I promise) Ali is no longer with the real Temptations. He has a tribute group called the Emperors of Soul.
