What a fun night. Richard came into Chicago today. I am promoting a show with his group tomorrow in Highland Park, IL. It is actually a sold out show (700+). My band was playing at a festival tonight and Richard came out and did a few tunes with us. He sang Papa Was a Rolling Stone, My Girl and sat in on Marvin Gaye's "LEt's Get It On". The crowd loved him and he did a wonderful job. It was truly an honor to share a stage with my boyhood idol. The first time I took to a big stage was at a Tempts show at the Holiday Star Theater in MErrillville, IN. It was truly a privilege to have such a legend on stage with us.

Sounds like it was a lot of fun *s* I had just watched the vhs Tempts live(Harrah's Vegas) a few days ago.. Richard sure seemed happy and shocked that the woman in the audience surprised him and kissed him. How cool for you!

*s* Thank God I'm not the only one to get it wrong! I was only in Vegas once, a long time ago. By greyhound, on my way to So. CAL. What a story that was! Lets see.. my daughter was born in '81.. so It had to have been '80, I didnt move from that bus station, just looked at how bright it was in the middle of the night.

There were no casinos in Tunica in the early 80's. Tunica almost wasn't in Tunica in the early 80's. It was known as the poorest community in the nation back then, what a difference a few casinos have made. From Sugar Ditch and poverty to one of the fastest growing communities in the Midsouth.
