Ok! Sorry! I was waiting for pictures but none of the ones of Weird Al turned out.. he moves too much! Oh well...
So after 6 1/2 hours in the car (GOSH!) listening to NOTHING buy Weird Al (oh yeah!) we FINALLY got to our hotel! Penny and I were SO excited! We both made little "We Love You AL!" signs and we, of course, had the home made Weird Al t-shirts that we made for his birthday last October (and we also wore them when his new CD came out) and we thought we were all set to go until my mom said that we should have made signs that said all the words to his song "Bob" like in the music video! Well, it sounded good at the time, but after we made them all (about 40...) and actually tried to do it, I didn't really want to. But anyway, it also occured to us that we didn't bring spatulas, which, for the HUGE Weird Al fans, is a MUST for a concert! So luckly there was a KMart right next to the hotel, so that was all good. So finally we get in the car to go over to the events center and about half way there my mom said "You girls do realize that Weird Al can see the same clouds as you." That's about the time that we started freaking out. I mean, Weird Al was in the same TOWN as us! Woo Hoo! So we get out of the car and start kinda walking/running down the street (we had to park REALLY far away because it was the first day of the state fair) and literally everyone was stopping my friend and I to ask if we were twins and stuff. Penny kinda looks like me, but really looks like my mom, AND our names are Jenny and Penny, so seriously, people didn't believe us when we told them we weren't! But we go inside the gate to the fair and there's this big sign that said Weird Al was there so we took our picture pointing to it with our spatulas! And all these people were watching us and saying how awesome it was that we thought to bring spatulas. So we go and we were the first people in line to get into this place and everybody kept talking to us, asking if we were twins, saying that they were big Weird Al fans, but they didn't understand why our shirts had big 27's on the back or why we had spatulas and such.... and they claimed to be BIG Weird Al fans! Sheesh! That information is completely obvious to all big Weird Al fans! But anyway, they finally let us in and Penny and I went straight to the Merchandise table and got a couple AWESOME Weird Al t-shirts and found out seats. We were slightly to the left, 6th row back. We were SO CLOSE! But the only problem was, was the show wasn't supposed to start for another hour! But, considering how excited we were, the hour went by kinda fast and all of a sudden the lights dimmed. Well, Penny started screaming her head off (only person screaming in the place, mind you) so I told her to shut up because it was only the opener. So this guy came out and was a stand up comedian and he wouldn't shut up! He just kept talking forever. I mean, he was funny, but not funny enough to laugh at. But finally, after closing up 3 times as a teaser or something, he got off the stage and Penny and I started to freak out... until they turned the lights back on. The show didn't start for another 20 minutes! Errrrrr! But FINALLY, the lights dimmed again and WEIRD AL came out with his band! No one was screaming as loud as Penny and I. And I screamed from the second a song stopped to the second the next one started. And I mean SCREAMED. I've never screamed so hard in my LIFE! I would have at the Temptations concert, but 1) there were people sitting in front of me and 2) I didn't have anyone there to scream with! Anywho, like I said, no one was sitting in the row in front of us, but the people sitting in the 4th row had gigantic sticks up their butts or something. I mean, it was a mom and a daughter and it looked like the mom just got the tickets because she had heard that kids thought Weird Al was funny yet she knew nothing about him. Yeah, they never cheered! But they did feel free to glare at Penny and I everytime we freaked out! So finally I just started waving at them and telling them hi and stuff so they just kinda left us alone after that. But yeah, Weird Al was AWESOME! It was so cool! And after the concert was over, we went over by the door to see if he was going to come out, but they said that that night was the 2nd night so far that tour that he would be unable to meet anyone except those with backstage passes. Right. So Penny and I stayed there anyway, standing next to the people with passes, and I asked this one lady how she got it, and this guy kinda looks at me and turns to the lady and he's like "I've got stuff to do in the morning, I'm going home." So he left... WITH HIS PASS! That made me SO MAD! He knew Penny and I were Weird Al freaks, and yet he left WITH his pass! Anyway, after they let the special people get back, they said everyone else (there were only, like 10 more people waiting) had to leave the building. So naturally Penny and I went around back and literally pressed ourselves into this chain link fence waiting for Weird Al to come out, and after about an hour and a half, we decided to leave. It was about 12:30 and my parents were tired. And as it was offically the 17th at that moment, I kinda did have school the next day. But even though we didn't get to meet Weird Al (THIS TIME! Muhahahaha...) we had a blast. And the next day we wore one of our new shirts and everywhere we went people asked us how the concert was, and then one lady told us that this was the 3rd year he'd been there in a row! I didn't know he went to the fair every year! So now, I'm gonna have this yearly thing.. Go see Weird Al! Woo Hoo! (It's a good thing my parents love him too!) But anyway, I'll post some pictures if I can get them on my computer!

But anyway, it also occured to us that we didn't bring spatulas, Ivory's very sad that it's not normal thing for Tempts fans to bring kitchen utensils to concerts, she feels like she's missing out. AND our names are Jenny and PennyHA HAAAA! I didn't get that until just now!!! I would have at the Temptations concert, but ..... I didn't have anyone there to scream with! One day we will go to a Tempts show together so we can both scream our butts off!!!!!! :hairraiser: but they said that that night was the 2nd night so far that tour that he would be unable to meet anyone except those with backstage passes. Did you not tell him that the legendary Temptations have taken time out of THEIR busy schedule to not pass up a chance to meet YOU and, on top of that, YOU are "Damon's Baby" you're practicly a demi-goddess yourself!!!! The NERVE of people! Oh well, glad you had fun!
