I won't drag this out, its pretty much been summed up by the previous concert reviews. This was my first time seeing the Whispers in concert and they were awesome. I hadn't seen "THE TEMPTATIONS" in a minute and I must say I was truly impressed. GC has added a remarkable enhancement to the group. I like his style, he's a great entertainer as well as an excellent singer "Kudos Otis". I don't know what's wrong with Terry's voice but I truly believe its been damaged singing those Tempt songs especially Dennis' songs (just my opinion). It was the Ojay's night, they :ostole the show. They can really work an audience. By the time the Four Tops came out I think everyone was just about exhausted, I know I was. I won't say much about them except "I Still Love Theo".

This whole tour makes me believe that Otis was looking to find someone who could carry the Temps in a show when challenged like they are on this tour. It is obvious the GC can carry the load. The timing was perfect for him to be in the group and he hasn';t disappointed.
Those of you not familiar with the Ojays and The Whispers are in for a treat as both have been top flight performers for a long time. If you ask my opinion though(even though you didn't I'm gonna give it any way ;D), the FOur Tops are out of place in this concert series. This would have been a super event if the fourth group had been the Dramatics. We really would have seen Soul Music at its highest level. I love the Tops now, but they don't sing the style of music being sung on this tour and they are kind of out of place in that way only. I love Theo but only with Levi would they stand a chance in this competition. Eddie Levert and Walter Williams of the Ojays can hurt you with their repitoire. And the Scott twins of the Whispers can do the same thing plus the Whispers can dance too.
In one of the reviews someone mentioned that Obie was playing around half the time and that was what I meant about competition. First of all, Levi don't play that. Secondly that's why The Temps have eliminated the bs in these shows cause if they come halfsteppin', both the Whispers and the Ojays will make them pay. So even though youdon't get a full concert from any of the groups, its worth it to see this series just for the competitive aspect of it. Ain't nobody coming to see the Coasters at these shows.
Getting back to the Dramatics. Can you see these five man groups squaring off in a show. Now I would pay good money for that show!

Well, it sounds like GC is doing the job he was brought in to do. Hey Meme! Hi Ivory!!!!! {{{Aba}} you're absolutely correct, the Tops don't fit in with this lineup. , but I reiterate"I Still Love Theo" . I believe someone from another board said "Levi would've made it work". Indeed, Levi is very unique, with all due respect, for those who love Levi it would've been priceless for them, however, I'm still convinced that the Tops just don't blend with this lineup.

Not without Levi Stubbs! Aba hit it right on the head! Now as far as the Tops..who's bright idea was it to have them try to close out the show...without Levi? That's crazy! I heard the people were dissapointed with the Tops! The Tempts only sang David& Eddie songs for the most part!

I heard the people were dissapointed with the Tops! The Tempts only sang David& Eddie songs for the most part! Many people did get up and leave before the show was over, including myself (I after Theo sung Always and Forever) and I was pretty close to the stage - not because I didn't enjoy the Tops but because I was truly exhausted after sitting thru 3 acts - even if Levi was there I would have left. The Tops should've come on first and the Ojay's last (more energy, etc.) - it really makes a difference especially when you're tired, besides I think the audience was predominantly Whispers and Ojays fans anyway. The Tempts just had an awesome night with that new guy GC, that's who basically carried them and that's the honest truth and I'm a Temptations fan. This concert was Friday night and then Sat. night I went to Westbury and just to show you how people are, if they are tired regardless who's performing some of them will exit the building before the show is over when there are too many acts are on the bill. I saw Freddie Jackson, Ashford & Simpson & Stephanie Mills in that order and believe me each of them were equally as good as the other and still during Stephanie's performance couples were gradually leaving the show. So I don't think it had anything to do with the Tops not being that good, because Theo is doing an incredible job, hey he's no Levi to some of you, but he carries his own weight as a Top, that's my strong feeling, but what do I know I'm no big Tops fan anyway, I'm a Theo fan.

Basically given the fact that the Ojays and Whispers have original leads singing their songs, it put the others at a diadvantage if they don't sing the songs the way the people are used to hearing them. GC is much better than Bo at that. He is a seasoned performer and it seems he has taken to being a Tempt pretty well. No knock on my man Theo cause I wish he was still a Tempt even if it cost us us Terry who is struggling right now. Everybody seem to be loving these shows.

The Concert was fabulous. This was my first time seeing the Whispers and O'Jays live. And believe me, I was not disappointed. In fact, the O'Jays had the crowd and stole the show. I felt sorry for the Four Tops. It's not that they don't belong on the show. However, they should have come on second being the weakest group in my opinion.
The Temptations were great. If anyone is doubting G.C. Cameron's ability to lead the Tempts, they have no reason to be concerned. He was simply fantastic and fit right in. He handled the songs by David and Dennis with ease and actually came close to sounding like both of them given the song. In fact, G.C. did most of the lead singing. I was surprised because I thought Terry would do more. He only sang lead on "Don't Look Back". It was apparent that he was a little hoarse and not as smooth as he normally is. I have been reading some of the messages concerning problems with Terry's voice. Can anyone give me a little more information?
