I think Ivory may want to move this one... but here goes. I have a concert review for you last night I attended the sold out concert in Atlantic City. I didn't even have to leave IRAQ(darn). I received in the mail my "Live" DVD. It was my first concert with the Tempts and I was thrilled to be there. The year was 1983...so everyone was dressed kinda funky... they opened with a quick medley. Being the nitpicky person I am I will say they did not look slim trim and healthy...only Richard and Ron and Mel. Dennis and Otis looked like they had too many Cheeseburgers... they wore black ill-fitted Tux's Dennis and O's could have been let out some(sorry). The songs were on.. I loved Ron's handling of "Imagination", as a matter of fact Ron was ON temptsinfo.com/smilies/wtg.gifOld Man River was the highlight of the night for me. Melvins smile was absolutly radiant ...the entire night. It was magical. :inlove: I didn't care for Anyone singing David Ruffins songs... Im sorry I only want to hear DR on DR leads. Off the subject real quick I can think of one song I like and thats when David Sea sings "Rain". Richard sang My Girl I just don't think his voice fits it. I like Dennis singing Dennis songs. They performed Eye of the Tiger...Richard was really great on that. The song Surface Thrills sucked so did the dancing for it...at first I thought I was being too harsh for saying that and the fact that the DVD is old...but then I said to myself there are lots of 80's tunes I like. ...hell Im 33 Im a 80's kid...so I agree with my first thought and that is Surface Thrills sucked. I don't like the way they ran thru Papa. I got love on my mind tonight ...was great...Dennis was on... All in all I enjoyed the show. as a matter of fact I hear they're are playing that same venue again tonight so I may see if I can get in there. Ha ha ha. My MVP award goes to Melvin he was the bomb :yourock: the hightlight of my night.

Not as big as that LIE you telling! Mike what am I lieing about??? The performance on that night from O, BLU, DENNIS, RICHARD & RON or about the size of DENNIS? ? Well from my eyes Dennis looks a touch bigger than Otis. Why its just a comment moving on from what Keeks said... So why take it as a personal attack on Dennis??? Obviously if you were there that night and can comment further I would admit that Iam wrong. Cause I said that Dennis looked a bit bigger than O doesn't detract on what a fantastic artist he is does it???

No it's not personal...Otis & Dennis are the same big size....no more,no less...both of their knees gave out around the same time. You make Otis out to be Ruffinsize...which he never was...neither was Dennis.I saw the video they look like they can wear each other's jackets....nothing personal! Just for the record!

Are you talking about the one at Harrah's........I think they could have left out "Eye Of The Tiger" I saw the show Live...I'm don't think it was the show that was taped..but it was the same time period. That might have been the first..of second time I saw Ron, live. Every time I saw Melvin..or heard Melvin..with my ears..or the review fom others that saw& heard him perform Old Man River...he ALWAYS did it the same way....GREAT,I never heard anyone say otherwise..he made alot of people LIKE the song that otherwise would hate it.

Yeah I find that each time I listen to any of the albums with it on I always found myself fast forwarding past it or skipping to the next track. Simply because I didn't give it a chance. I did the same with the live video's then one day I just listened and realised what a fantastic truly perfect rendition it is. How does Harry hold it today?? folks?

I like Ray Mike but to me Harry edges it... But as I say its only my opinion. Nobody can replace Blu but they both do fine jobs keeping the standard he set going.

Okay, I can comment on this because I was at this show. (although I saw it on August 7th) Ol' Man River *seals the deal.* Melvin is *the best* bass singer in the world...and the harmonies behind him....sighhh. He does that "rolling" bass thing that a lot of bass singers do. (Try and FAIL, that is.) And he is ON for the whole "roll." That blows me away. Oh...and we all know how I feel about Richard. You know I jumped on the "Heavenly" bandwagon. He does sound fantastic on that one song. *But* his part on "Cloud Nine" at Harrah's... There is *one line* in particular that I could do without... "Say one more time." It's in the chorus.... but he sings it so soft and nasally...kind of like the way he does "I Wish It Would Rain." That song gets *no* airtime from me. Ron was on! Dennis was on! ;D Peach
