From their web site:
03.25.03 - Jive Train is back from our show with the world famous Temptations! Talk about an adventure. We left Baton Rouge at 10:00 pm on Sunday night and headed straight to McAllen, TX (just 10 miles from Mexico). We rolled in around 10:00 am and crawled into our hotel just down the street from the civic center where we played the show at. We got some sleep in a bed, not that a bench in our van isn’t heaven on wheels, and then headed down to the sound check. All of the guys at the civic center were great and really took care of us. The Temptations checked first. They had a great band with a full 10-piece horn section that they had hired in McAllen. The Temptations treated us to dinner across the street at a great little Mexican restaurant and it was show time. The crowd was great. We played from 8:00 till 9:00 and got the crowd really warmed up. We were the first opening band at the civic center to receive a standing ovation from a sold out house. The Temptations show was great! We had been waiting to see them for a long time. We even watched the movie on the way to McAllen.
We met a lot of great people after the show. We stayed in the lobby to sign CD’s, pictures, and t-shirts. The people were great and we hope to play in McAllen again soon. The Temptations musical director talked to us for a while and he and Otis Williams were very impressed with Jive Train.
We are on our way back to Louisiana to play on Bourbon Street tonight. We hit the road at 3:00 am and we are burnin’ the road. We hope to get home with enough time to grab a shower and a change of clothes before heading down to Utopia. Temptations show pictures are on the website so please go and check them out.
See you soon.
