Here is a concert review posted by GElaine on the Temptations Concert Review QT page:
Hello (((((Temptations Fans)))))
The Temptations gave an outstanding performance at the PARTY in the Solano County Fairgrounds in Vallejo, California last night. I admit some reluctance about waiting in line in the 90 degrees sun for 2 or more hours to get into the arena, but you know I could not resist the opportunity to see the guys. Thankfully, it was only about 80 degrees, but after waiting 1 hour just to get on the grounds, I had 45 minutes to get in the arena. The doors to the ground level seating and the bleacher stands were all closed because they had already reached capacity. My heart fell to the ground and I panicked thinking I may not see the guys in their final scheduled Bay Area appearance. After running from door to door, I noticed about 5 or 6 people going in one of the gates saying they had a stamp. I got behind them, said “stamp” and I was the last person in that gate…LOL. Of course, the place was packed and there wasn’t a seat anywhere, so I resigned to standing in the isle. Well, just as the guys came out, I was trying to see how I could get a picture that far away and my flash was brighter than ever…LOL. A child touched my shoulder and the folks behind me said, “OK, we have made enough room for you, so come up here and sit your a** down so we can see”…LOL. There were 2 GQ style young men sitting there, and they told me I had to stop flashing too…LOL. I wasn’t upset because I know you don’t mess with Tempts fans when they are at a concert…LOL. Oh, the Tempts looked gorgeous in what looked like soft, light green suits in the twilight, but under the stage lights they looked off white. The shirts, shoes and hankies were black…WOW, pure elegance! The party people were there, and the guys seemed to appreciate it. Ron still was not able to do all the choreography because of his broken toe, so Terry was dancing next to Harry on some songs. During “Standing on the Top”, Harry and Terry were perfectly synchronized and it was something to behold. Ooowwwweeee, I love that step back and had to scream. What can I say about my Terry, “How that man can dance”! Harry was cuttin’ up with that booming bass, dancing and chatting with folks. Barrington sang “Promise” and when he went down on one knee, there were cheers from everywhere. Bo worked the stage, but it was too high for him to jump off (which is probably a good thing). Before the show started, I noticed a woman slowly walking with a cane to her seat on the ground level and I wasn’t sure she would make it. But during “Treat Her Like a Lady”, she was up in the isle dancing, cane and all…LOL. Even the GQ guys had to laugh and applaud on that song…LOL. While Terry was singing “4 Days” I could not help screaming and folks were looking back at me as if to ask “Do we need to throw a net over her?”…Hahahaha. They didn’t sing “Ol’ Man River” but I got goosebumps during the James Brown skit when Harry sang the Sly Stone line…WHEW! I had not heard them sing “Can’t Get Next to You” after “My Girl” before. They went off stage, then came back and sang more of “Can’t Get…”. I am so grateful I did not miss that show because it was truly memorable (especially since I don’t have pictures)…LOL.
Thank you ((((((((((Harry, Terry, Barrington, Ron, Otis, Al, Kerry, Buster, Adrian, Crew)))))))) Be careful on the road. I love alla y’all.
