How do you post pics now? Wasn't there a pop up box to paste a image link? I see the insert image icon, but not sure how to get in on there.

I tried to post a picture a multiple number of times...and it just wasn't workin for me...so I just gave up So K2, can the picture be from a site other than the ones that actually host images? As long as it has a URL, right?

The only thing I know for sure is that bandwidth costs money. I'll use one of my sites as an example:
Let's say I have a photo on the "Temptationsforever" site and someone decides they want to show that photo here. They do the [ img] thing and post the photo. Each time the thread containing that photograph is opened and the image transfers, a certain percentage of my bandwidth allotment for the month is used up. If too many people transfer images or if the one person that does it puts the photo in a thread that is accessed too often, not only would the photo not show up anymore but "Temptationsforever" would be inaccessible until the next month when my bandwidth totals reset.
I have a few image transfer accounts (I used Uploadit most often because it's the most dependable) and if I see an image that I want to share here, I copy the image to my hard drive, upload it to one of these image transfer accounts, and use the URL from there to show it off. That way, everyone can still see the image and I'm not encroaching on anyone's bandwidth. That's proper netiquette where image transfers are concerned.
As far as picture theft is concerned, most people will ask. The webmaster of DB Woodside's website wanted to use some of my screen caps and she asked if she could use them. When I said yes, she put them on her own webspace and had her way with them. I've found that when people don't ask, it's mostly because they just aren't aware of proper netiquette.

Thanks, Ed! That was pretty much how I understood it to be, and why I preface all my image-posting instructions with "Get your own storage space". Most are free for a basic account that will be all you'll need for most of the images you'll want to share. I wasn't sure if times had changed with technology on the 'bandwidth' score . Oh, how I wish...LOL! This rule applies to image transferring, downloading from a site (audio, video, or anything like that), and pretty much anything that remote-links from somewhere else. Sharemation is pretty terrible because the allowable bandwidth is utterly tiny. Uploadit easily outdistances everything else I've come in contact with. What's shocking is how little it costs to purchase actual webspace that you can post song files, graphics, or pictures on. It's not as expensive as most people think. Ed
