We must be twins separated at birth. Seriously .......... let's go back to the root of the problem. When you say the songs "skip" what exactly does that mean? DOes that mean they are jumpy? :laughing I guess 'jumpy' would be a more accurate description.

sounds like you might be low on memory, which could certainly happen if you only have 13 megs of space left ......... first try to delete any other unnecessary programs/files you might have ........... then do a disk degragmentation (start, programs, accessories) now that will take a while, so you might want to do it overnight.
See if that helps.

Yes, the message instructed me to delete unnecessary files. I deleted what I thought was unnecessary, but still got the message. In fact, at first it said I only had 20 left and after I went to "uninstall" and deleted some stuff, the message then said I only had 13! I sure do wish I knew more about computers. I was afraid to delete some of the things because I wasn't sure if I needed them. Like for instance, Internet Explorer is on there twice. The first one says....... OKay, I went and typed everything on the list and here it is: Delete Windows Millennium uninstall information Hyperload Internet Explorer Q824145 Java 2 Runtime Environment, SE v1.4.0_01 Java Runtime Environment 1.1 Java Web Start LiveReg (Symantec Corporation) LiveUpdate 1.80 (Symantec Corporation) Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 SPI and Internet Tools Microsoft Office 97, Professional Edition MSN Messenger 6.0 Norton SystemWorks 2003 Pop-Up Stopper Free Edition Precision Time Quick Time Shockwave Uninstall Windows Millennium Viewpoint Media Player (Remove Only) Windows Millennium Edition Q823559 Update WinZip Yahoo! Messenger Let me know what I can delete. I'll try the disk degragmentation overnight. I checked accessories and found it. Thanks!

Try downloading this....... www.jam-software.com/freeware/index.shtmland it will tell you what is taking up the most space on your hard drive. All of those programs you listed look pretty imporant to me. But if you haven't defragged or haven't done it recently, that will speed things up a bit. Do you know how big your harddrive is or how much memory you have?

No, and no.
Hey, I performed that function or whatever you call it and it looks like I could free a lot of space if I emptied my recyle bin I guess. Because it says:
13,346 RECYLED
But this may sound silly, but I can't find my recycle bin! It used to be on the desktop, I think. But I don't see it. I checked startup and don't see it there or anywhere. Where do you think it is?
Here are the other things it came up with:
811 mb WINDOWS 465 mb PROGRAM FILES 252 mb MY DOCUMENTS 76,266 kb [FILES] 14,078 kb WINDOWS UPDATE SETUP FILES 12,346 kb RECYCLED 10,445 kb MY DOWNLOADS 2,482 kb WIN95DRIVERS 2,109 kb _RESTORE 1,531 kb TRAINING 1,218 kb FCIC5506 1,063 kb UNZIPPED 1,041 kb DELL 2 kb NCDTREE 0 kb WUTEMP 0 kb MY MUSIC

After further investigation, I found an icon that states: Wasted Space and these are the numbers:
263 MB WINDOWS 104 MB Program Files 3,694 kb Win95drivers 2,714 kb My Documents 2,086 kb RECYLED 766 kb [Files] 542 kb fcic5506 505 kb unzipped 495 kb Dell 482 kb Windows Update Setup Files 387 kb _RESTORE 179 kb Windows Update Setup Files 69 kb Training 62 kb NCDTREE 32 kb WUTemp 32 kb My Music
This looks like a lot of wasted space!
