Hey these brothers from 1966 really did their thing on the songs by The Temptations. CHeck it out on www.singers.com and type in The Royal Counts. I have the cd's I just don't know how to upload it. If ya'll know how to upload, just holla at me.
They sung My Girl, Don't Look Back, Farewell My Love, It's Growing, The Way You Do The Things You Do, Fading Away, Way Over There, Isn't She Pretty, and Born To Love You. All of them acapella. They sung other songs as well. CHeck it out. The lead singer, in my opinion did a great lead job on My Girl. SOme people think only Ruffin did a great job, but the Royal COunts lead singer definitely did his thing. Check it out.
What's so interesting is that the Royal Counts were still in high school when this was released. These brothers should've been on the Motown roster.
WHat I don't understand is how come The Royal Counts have acapella versions of Fading Away, Way Over There, Isn't She Pretty,Born To Love You,It's Growing and The Temptations haven't even released their versions of these songs yet, they definitely had many chances to do so as bonus tracks on the many cd's they've released and on the most recent release "The Definite Performance dvd's" since they didn't have an acapella for Sorry Is a Sorry Word, which they should've had by the way, they could've put at least one or four other acapella tracks, instead they just release 15 acapella songs, when they could've released so much more, where's the Since I Lost My Baby acapella track, where are songs like Farewell My Love, You'll Lose A Precious On Love that showcase there doo-wop roots as well as the extended verision of Dream Come True? How does another group have acapella versions of your songs out, and you don't.
I know the Royal Counts recorded these songs in the 60's but they weren't put out on cd until 1994. So why couldn't The Tempts drop cd's like this. I mean the Tempts "Lost and Found" cd, which contained 97% of songs that we've never heard before was released, and people bought it, so why not release an acapella cd with songs that we all know of. The Tempts are way more popular than The Royal Counts so how can The Royal Counts have 33 acapella songs available, and The Tempts only 16 something is wrong with that picture. But in no way should another group have an acapella version of your own song out, and you don't have an acapella verison of that song, and it's your song. They should at least release it as bonus tracks on there upcoming cd's, they need to hook up the fans of acapella.
