The Temptations, which are the members of the legendary organization consisting of 5 vocalists and once a Motown staple, are the only ones who can be billed as such. They're the only ones who can record as such. They're the only ones can appear as guest performers as such a name. The other splinter groups who perform using the word 'Temptations', but not only that word are allowed to do so. The cases that were presented to the court proposed that this be allowed. They aren't preventing anyone of the former lead singers to 'perform', just preventing them from performing under a certain title. That's it. They can't perform only known as The Temptations.
