Cool! More Ruff stuff. I'm not really familiar with his music, but maybe I'll check out some of his songs on iTunes. They have lots of oldies music. I already have "Walk Away From Love" on my iPod. I'm always amazed at those really high notes that he hits. That shows me that he had a big range.

These are two great collections from David. "So Soon We Change.......soon we'll be looking for a new love". Spring of '79. The next one also, "Gentleman Ruffin"........my favorites are "All I Need" (not the Tempts song, just same title) and "Love Supply"... he was really hitting his stride w/ Don Davis. Then all the talk began about him getting back w/ the Tempts........David is in great form on both of these LP/CDs............

As much as I prefer David's solo material from the '69-'71 era, these two albums are a welcome departure from the Van McCoy years.
Some highlights for me are "I Get Excited" -- which feels as if you're seated at a bar and listening in on David's attempts to convince a woman to go home with him, whispering into her ear all night long -- the quirky "Morning Sun Looks Blue," the heartfelt "Slow Dance" and the incredible duet with Laverna Mason, "I Wanna Be With You."
I don't know when -- or to whom -- I'm getting married, but I've already decided that will be the song we dance to at the reception.
