Okay here is my unbiased review of the Review's latest record attempt. Honestly, it was difficult for me to listen to it in it's entirety. It started off fairly interesting, with a jazzy feel with a sort of reggae flavor, but I found I lost interest before the intro finished. However I was determined to finish listening to it. The song has good potential, if you're into that kind of music, but the harmonies were WAY off. And I pride myself as a musician on beng able to hear that sort of thing. The lyrics also were a bit flat, with them constantly repeating look what the lord has done, (What, what did he do???) Dennis has definitely loss some power in his voice, a prime example, in the song when he sings, STAYYYYY...the note is completely flat, and out of tune. He sounds much better than he did on that horrid DVD I will give him that, but I wouldn't expect them to be beating down the door to give them a Grammy for this. I am going to have to say, I am not overly impressed. Their also seems to be many production errors that I won't bore you with. As the song goes on it get's better, as far as the group goes, but Dennis, is struggling to do something? I am just not sure what. It's sad that the song really does get better as it goes on, but I am afraid the casual listener wouldn't listen long enough to hear the better stuff towards the end. If this is a promise of what's to come from the Review's latest cd, I'll pass. I'd rather hear what Ali is doing with the Whispers. All in all, I give it 2 out of 5 stars, and I am being generous here.

As I read your review I was smiling to myself.....I listened to this last nite and was duly disappointed, I called my wife to listen because I needed help deciphering what I was hearing. This song is what I call "blase' " It offers the listener nothing....the lyrics go nowhere and the instrumentation is lacking. Your point about Dennis's "Stay note".... my wife and I discussed it at great length. we can't figure out if he flat going sharp or what From a gospel perspective I don't see this song grabbing anyone when compared to others. Bottom Line I agree with your assessment.
