i got your diversity right here, ivory! self, you izz right! my girl is the most overrated song- why? because it's played to death. it's as if it's the only tempts song ever on old school radio! i love it , it's a classic, it is my favorite tempts song, but anything killed to death on the airplay gets old. it 'll sound fresh to you if you skip it for a period of time. i bet you this, my young brother, if you were in iraq in the trenches right now, and you heard ''my girl'', if you didn't start to cry or smile after that, i don't know! it would make a body homesick in a hurry!

You're right about that man. It just get's played too much. It happens to be the only song I ever hear on the radio, by the tempts. This is why I don't listen to the stations that would play it or the radio much anymore. I'll stay collecting my albums.

I don't even play it anymore, except on very rare occasions. It's just one of those really great songs; I think I'd be horrified if I got tired of it, so I prefers to not listen to it as much.

For M=me the song is Glass House. That song is such a gem. my girl came home and she caught me with alice and she flew me out the door. I think another underrated song is How Coul He Hurt You. Man that's a song. I think there are more underrated songs of thiers than can be counted. Now, I get much flack from everybody about this, but I feel My Girl is the most overrated song in thier songs book. I can't think of any other song inthier catalogue I'd like to erase. I understand it's importance and significance, but I just don't like the song. My Girl could never be overrated. It just stood the test of time. I agree with you on How Could He Hurt You and Glasshouse, but Glasshouse got a lot of airplay when it was new.

Since I Lost My Baby is definitely underrated. How about In A Lifetime; Put Your Trust In Me, Baby; Let Your Hair Down; Glasshouse and Some Enchanted Evening.

i was listening to since i lost my baby today - it was 75 degrees, which is perfect, not cold, not hot, gentle breeze blowing, low humidity, sunshine, and the sunroof open, and the bose stereo with 8 speakers playing that classic tune in my caddy. i listened to OTIS WILLIAMS' favorite song. that's what he has said in several places- book, and radio interview on npr in 1988.
the strings are outstanding, david is pleading, melvin's bottom is in perfect contrast, eddie and otis and paul are singing great background.

melvin's bottom is in perfect contrast my mind is wandering... I know.... it's too small to be out by itself. That just struck me as funny.

The Temptations had a number of underrated songs. My wife has started playing Dream Come True, hopefully about me ;Dand that is sounding better and better. It's Growing is another favorite of mine, and of course I Want A Love I Can See. My Girl: The Very Best Of The Temptations is exactly what it is, the very best.

It's just one of those really great songs; I think I'd be horrified if I got tired of it, so I prefers to not listen to it as much. exactly!!! thats like Walk Away From Love too. I try to stick to repeating it only twice ;D But I can't even do that with My Girl. I find myself skipping it. I think the same thing is happening with TWYDTTYD. BUt then when it's fresh after not hearing it for a while, your love for the song is renewed. But then you have to take another long break from it before the love gets worn out AKA, I used to hate Dream Come True. I was wonderiong why it was called one of their greatest hits. But now I find myself singing it and actually listening to it.

I can't play "The Way You Do The Things You Do" regularly, either, EA. Although, when i watched SITSOM, I played everything on disc 1 and 2 of EOS and then listened to the same songs again on the albums, because I think the Funks did some of their best work with the Tempts and the Miracles, so I did the same for the Miracles records too. Even songs that I tire of, like TWYDTTYD, My Girl, Shop Around, became new and fresh for me again. And I realized exactly why those songs are classics now.
